Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode just hit DriveThruRPG, meaning now you don’t even need friends to live the dream in Night City.
Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode does exactly what it says on the cover. It’s a one stop shop to delve into the world of Night City during the time of the red, no group needed. Although, weirdly enough, this actually can work as a way to play even with a group, because GM-less play is literally for everyone at the table.
Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode
Solo RPGs have really been taking off lately. Once the realm of indie RPGs where you’d get all sorts of moody, atmospheric pieces, like a kid discovering a mech on a ruined battlefield and journaling about it, now everyone is getting in on the action. Games like Ironsworn have shown what you can do with solo play. And I’m here for it. Even if you have a group that meets regularly, the tools you find are often great creative aids.
Which is why I’m excited to see Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode out on DriveThruRPG. It’s full of a suite of tools to help you run your own game of Cyberpunk. Either for yourself or for your friends.
At the heart of the book are a bunch of helpful tools:
“Single Player Mode provides the tools a gamer needs to play Cyberpunk RED on their own or as part of a group with no Gamemaster. It’ll even function as an assistant-GM, ready and willing to fill in the blanks in your Dark Future story.
Expert solo player Peter Norton of HollowPonds Solo Sagas has teamed up with R. Talsorian Games to create the ultimate solo play guide for Cyberpunk RED. Use it on your own or use it with friends. Either way, it’ll enhance your visit to Night City.”
What are the tools, exactly? You get a bunch of oracle tables, for one. These are geared for Cyberpunk RED. But you will probably get a lot more out of the quick and dirty rules for Netrunning. Or the guidelines for solo combat. Not to be confused with combat that involves a Solo.
Those of you looking for inspiration as GMs, might enjoy the mission builders. Or the lists of tables and random encounters, including organizations, people, places, and plots. Either way, you can check out Single Player Mode as of today!
See you in Night City!
