Want to know just what the powers of Chaos have in store for you? Check out this preview of Soulbound: Champions of Chaos.

Soulbound: Champions of Chaos brings the powers of Chaos to the Age of Sigmar tabletop RPG. Now, at last, you can follow the path of the Ruinous Powers and descend into darkness where true strength lies. Maybe you’ll get a good gift? Maybe you’ll mutate poorly and end up a spawn? That’s always a chance when you dabble in Chaos. But here’s a look at why you might want to.

Soulbound: Champions of Chaos Preview

In Soulbound: Champions of Chaos, you play as the titular champions of the dark powers. This is a fine GW roleplaying tradition that stretches back to the very first Champions of Chaos book. The basic idea has changed very little over the years—you play as aspiring champions who seek out the favor of the dark gods. Pick one of the dark gods, and then dedicate yourself. Or go all in on all of them if you fancy yourself a Be’lakor.

But either way, once you set down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. And that means you get some pretty cool powers. In this case, it means taking on a specific class.

Cubicle 7 revealed a few glimpses of what you might play. You could take up arms (and skulls) as a Slaughterpriest, reveling in Khorne’s might and fury. Or as a Magister of Tzeentch, you can hurl the flames of Change. Perhaps Slaanesh beckons you, and you become a Symbaresh Twinsoul, host to a daemon that occasionally takes over. Or Nurgle and his ever blooming gifts might make you a Putrid Blightking. Even the Great Horned Rat makes an appearance. You could play a Warlock Engineer and wield all sorts of destructive toys.

And of course, for those dedicated to Chaos in all its forms, the Chaos Warrior. Seek th favor of Chaos Undivided. Become completely entombed within ensorceled armor. Destroy all who oppose you and eventually take up the gifts of all of Chaos.

And all this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Soulbund: Champions of Chaos. This book is full of dark magic and new items and dark gifts. There are plenty more archetypes than the ones previewed to play with, as well.

I think this is going to take Soulbound in a dark new direction that’s pretty exciting, all things considered. So keep an eye out, Champions of Chaos is coming soon for pre-order.
