The world of Golarion is getting a lot more monstrous now that the Monster Core 2 is out. Demigods. Dragons. That’s only the beginning.

Pathfinder 2E does many things right. But one of the best things it does is catalogue new and exciting monsters. You won’t find the same old piles of hit points in its mk ster volumes. The system allows for a lot of granularity when it comes to actions – and if you aren’t afraid to get crunchy, it treats you to a mouthful of mechanical monsters.

And now, PF2E expands its collection of creatures even further with a brand new bestiary: the Monster Core 2. This is an updated compendium of new friends, fiends, rivals, and everything in between. Using the new Pathfinder 2E Remastered ruleset, the Monster Core 2 is another chance to see a lot of old favorites from the early Pathfinder days brought under the new rules umbrella. This includes some of Golarion’s greatest hits, like the dweomercat.

Pathfinder 2E Monster Core 2 – A Fresh Look At Fearsome Faces Old And New

You know the deal. This is a new manual full of monsters that you can use in your Pathfinder 2E games. And this particular creature-filled compendium has more than 300 individual entries. You get all the stats, all the new tags (which is very important in the ruleset), and some new lore in a few cases.

The Monster Core 2 features a diverse arrangement of demons, demigods, and dangerous dudes. If you’ve been a longtime Pathfinder player, you’ll probably recognize some of the entries. The Spawn of Rovagug, the bane of many a Kingmaker playthrough, gets an update, for instance. As do many monsters pulled from mythology. Pathfinderizing myths is a Paizo tradition that goes back to the very first playtest days.

Big and small, the Monster Core 2 has them all.

“Despite how far heroes travel or how many times they save the day, there are always new monsters lurking just around the corner. Pathfinder Monster Core 2 is a 376-page hardcover bursting with brand-new creatures as well as updated Pathfinder classics waiting to find a place at your table.

The lavishly illustrated tome also includes guidelines for reading monster entries and adjusting existing monsters to tailor-fit your story! This book is a must-have for Game Masters ready to bring new and exciting challenges to their games!

Pathfinder Monster Core 2 makes use of the updated rules for the fully remastered Pathfinder Second Edition RPG! These rules are compatible with previous Pathfinder Second Edition rulebooks, incorporating comprehensive errata and rules updates and some of the best additions from later books into new, easier-to-access volumes with new presentations inspired by years of player feedback.”

But what about new stuff? Don’t worry. This isn’t just a fresh coat of Pathfinder 2E paint for classic Pathfinder monsters. You can also find at least eight brand-new dragons among the pages of the Monster Core 2. And they don’t sound like the kind of dragons you’d want to run into on a foggy battlemap.

I mean, a Cinder Dragon – sure, that sounds dangerous, but deal-with-able. But when the GM brings out the Despair Dragon? Or the Requiem Dragon? The more esoteric, the less likely it is your whole party is going to make it through the encounter. At any rate, you can find these and more in Pathfinder 2E Monster Core 2, out now!

What new horrors will you unleash from within the pages?
