The Helsmiths of Hashut are getting to play in Ghyran thanks to the Grotmas Calendar. New rules are out for free!

Games Workshop is releasing another batch of Ghyran rules. I suppose it’s to help balance things out a bit for the Helsmiths of Hashut who missed the previous wave. To be fair, they weren’t out at the time so I’d cut them some slack. Anyhow, GW adding them to the alternate rules pile with their free download.

“Today’s Grotmas Calendar reveal celebrates the arrival of the latest faction to the Mortal Realms. Not big on gifting, what with their whole Wages of Toil schtick, the Helsmiths of Hashut have begrudgingly prepared a complement of Scourge of Ghyran rules, meaning they are now on a par with the rest of the factions in the Mortal Realms.”

Helsmith’s Ghyran Rules

As you can see above there are two alternate versions of units you can use. There’s a new War Despot and a new Infernal Cohort. As with previous Ghyran rules, these are Matched Play legal. However, you can’t use both these alternate versions and the original versions in the same list. This batch of rules also comes with new Battle Formations as well as Cursed Devices.

Again, these are alternate options that are there to give players more options. So feel free to use them or their original counterparts. OH and speaking of new things, GW dropped this bit of info about the Ghyran Warscrolls…

“A note on the Scourge of Ghyran rules – some of the warscrolls have proven incredibly popular, and the Warhammer Design Studio are aware you’ve all been enjoying them. They’ll be keeping the most popular units in mind along with your feedback while they work on the future of Warhammer Age of Sigmar – so keep an eye on Warhammer Community for more news and updates next year.”

Interesting. It seems like some of those Warscroll might be taking over or used to update their counter-parts for future releases. That’s probably a good thing. We’ll have to keep an eye on that for later on in 2026!

Helsmiths, get those rules and rule with a Tyrant’s Fist!
