“We are thrilled with the work that Stainless Games has done on Duels of the Planeswalkers and look forward to our future endeavors,” said Simon Blackwell, VP of Digital Games at Wizards of the Coast.
"Stainless is delighted to be continuing and extending our relationship with Wizards of the Coast,” said Patrick Buckland, CEO of Stainless Games. “There can be few properties anywhere in the world that can compete with those within the Wizards stable. Being able to be a big part of the push to bring these fantastic brands into the digital domain is a dream come true for us."
Duels of the Planeswalkers continues to be one of the most downloaded games on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and has been a consistent Top 10 title since its launch in June 2009. Duels of the Planeswalkers lets players simulate the Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game through an interactive digital experience. Players take on the role of a Planeswalker, a powerful wizard who battles others for glory, knowledge and conquest. Each Planeswalker has an arsenal of spells and creatures showcased by virtual cards. Players can either choose to battle against the computer or compete online against real life opponents using Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE service offerings.
Jace Beleren is a planeswalker who has taken the path of least resistance. He is gifted and powerful, but chooses not to push himself. Part of an inter-planar consortium that deals in magical artifacts, Jace has some power and influence. He also has a certain amount of security. That’s all about to change. When Liliana, a dark temptress with demons of her own (quite literally), comes into his life, she brings with her more possibilities, but also more problems.
Under attack from external interests, a friend dies because of decisions Jace made. Upset with himself and fearing for his life, Jace sets out to find who is behind this new threat. What he uncovers along the way, an inter-planar chase filled with peril, will alter everything he knows.
Agents of Artifice is available now at DriveThruFantasy.com.

30.01.2010. 20:01Urban Manhunt is a non-collectible (but still expandable) card game set in a bleak, dystopian future in which a televised death sport rules the ratings. Following a terrorist attack on Chicago in 2021, the government has been using the city as a prison for the absolute lowest dregs of humanity, reserving prisons for the more mundane manner of criminals. It wasn't long before the entertainment world devised a way to take advantage of the situation. The idea was a simple one: highly-trained mercenaries would be dropped into the city and would then compete against each other to see who could "eliminate" the most criminals. The sport exploded onto the scene and has since become a mainstay in pop culture, with the Hunters being treated as national celebrities.
In Urban Manhunt, each player takes on the role of a Hunter. The one who eliminates the largest amount of criminals (called crims) before time runs out will stand victorious. This is accomplished by moving to different areas of the desolate concrete jungle and tracking down crims using your wits and cunning. Then, it's only a matter of subduing or killing them. But the city is huge and it's no easy task to locate crims. Danger lurks around every corner and from within every nook and cranny.

Someone must take on the role of Khalifa, leading the faith. Can you unite the squabbling clans, pummel the Persians, beat back the Byzantines and unite the Arabian Peninsula? More importantly, can you do it in spite of the other players? Since only six of the first twelve Khalifa died of natural causes, there are frequent openings for the position. Based on historical events and people, winning takes strategy, diplomacy, and an occasional bit of treachery. The game is notable in that it has both English and Arabic-native versions, making it one of very few US games designed expressely for an Arabic-speaking audience. You can see the game and download a sample here.

In doing so, I'd like to take advantage of this and restructure the rules so the game is clearer and cleaner, remedy issues and concerns players might have about the rules and cards, and clean up the overall appearance. End result, I hope, is a sleeker game with a broader support and a better product all around. Any help, thoughts, comments, or criticisms are more than welcome; I'm not thin skinned, I've spent way too much time in theater, so I look forward to constructive comments and discussion. If anyone would like to check it out, drop by the site at final-twlight.neoproductions.net; the site is newly up, a new CMS system I'm writing, so content will be filling in the sparse space at the moment- real action for the Revised Edition is on the forums, however. Link to those is right on the site's nav bar.
Anyone who can stop by, I'd be much obliged and grateful for the insight!
