Venture 4th: Pact of the Angelic Choirs

Pact of the Angelic Choirs is part of a series of new warlock pacts for 4E, from Adamant Entertainment.

Warlocks treat not only with the maddening fey or strange, outré powers from the void, but with astral creatures of light and strength. Known to mortals as angels, most assume these creatures are messengers and servants of benevolent deities. Some warlocks have discovered the ancient thaumaturgies and rituals used to invoke the creatures that roam the Astral Sea. These warlocks can channel life-giving power, or blast their enemies with searing light and the awesome might of the heavens.

This pact features a full listing of powers from Levels 1 through 30, two new Feats exclusive to the pact, a paragon path, and three new magic items.

The Venture 4th series is available at RPGNow.com.

Exalted Scroll of Fallen Races Now Available!

A Guide to Proud Cultures in Decline

Once, before the fabled First Age, Creation was a far different place. The Primordials still ruled from Yu-Shan, and the gods wrought their masters’ will from the Blessed Isle. In a time when humanity had yet to taste freedom, the world was ruled by other races, both mysterious and powerful. The course of the Primordial War wiped out most of these peoples, but two lived on under Solar rule, the noble Dragon Kings and the clever Jadeborn, though even then their decline had begun… a decline hastened by the Usurpation. Will the return of their erstwhile lords and allies, the Solar Exalted, mark a return to greatness for these races, or are they doomed to finally fall during this time of tumult?

Scroll of Fallen Races is available at RPGNow.com.

Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2 - Print Version Available Now!

Spectrum Games proudly presents the hardcopy version of Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2, via Lulu.com.

Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2 is the second edition of the role-playing game that was nominated for “Best RPG” at the 2004 Origins Awards. It was designed specifically to emulate the fun and excitement of the 1980s action-adventure cartoons at every turn, using "cartoon logic" as its foundation.

Designer Cynthia Celeste Miller comments: “The first edition of the game was solid, but I don’t feel it went far enough to recreate the feel of the retro-toons. At its heart, it was still a pretty traditional role-playing game. This time around, I decided to go that extra step to ensure that the game system worked exactly the way the cartoons played out. For example, ‘combat’ isn’t necessarily true combat in the traditional sense. Characters can defeat their foes without actually causing physical damage… which was common in the retro-toons.”

CAH:S2 emphasizes fast and exciting game-play that can be wrapped up in an hour or less. This emphasis even extends to the character creation system, which allows players to whip up their heroes within 15 minutes. The rulebook even includes three ready-to-play series (Warriors of the Cosmos, Strikeforce Freedom and Transbots), complete with write-ups for more than 80 characters. In this day and age, time is a precious commodity for most gamers, so this fast-playing design philosophy makes squeezing in games much easier.

You can purchase Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2 at Lulu.com.

Burning Lands (a Darwin’s World Novel) On Sale

"Burning Lands" is a story of the battle between the oppressive suffocation that is civilization and the wild unpredictability that comes with real freedom. In a world two hundred years after a planetwide cataclysm, the descendants of a great war's survivors are only now pulling themselves out of the chaos of the aftermath. The descendants of the Great Enemy, stranded on these shores for generations, have unified and begun to rebuild a new civilization on the ashes of the old. Their hope is to bury the animosities of the past, a lasting feud that no longer seems relevant. Poised against them are the wild natives of this land, who still cling to fragments of their ancestral memory of freedom, and yearn for independence from these foreign "invaders".

Burning Lands is available in print at Amazon.com and in pdf at RPGNow.com.
