[93 Games Studio] Twilight: 2013 PDF available

It is July, 2013. World War III has been raging for several years. The earth’s population has been virtually decimated by nuclear bombing and fallout, famine, and disease. The surviving ten percent of the world’s population remains engaged in conflict. Military action still occurs - when there is sufficient fuel, ammunition and manpower – and all the civilians can do is try to stay alive.

Using real-world events through 2007 as a basis, Twilight: 2013 tells the story of our planet’s slide into oblivion, pitching players into a world devastated by war and ravaged by disease, immersing them in the tattered remnants of a place that is both familiar and alien. Twilight: 2013 is the core rule book for the 3rd Edition of the popular Twilight: 2000 series of RPG games originally published by GDW.

The main rules set provides a detailed character creation system which allows players to choose to side either with the veterans of the world’s military forces, or with the civilians who are caught up in the conflicts. With a staged rules system that caters to both novice and experienced players, Twilight: 2013 lets you choose to participate further in the world’s downfall, or help in the struggle to preserve and rebuild.

Fans of Twilight: 2000 will notice that Twilight: 2013 has evolved into a rich character-based role-playing experience, set against a military backdrop, with both military and civilian paths from which to choose.

The PDF for Twilight: 2013 is now available at RPGNow.

Dungeon Crawl Classics Flip Book

Two Adventures For Level 1 Characters

This "flip book" features The Golden Auroch on one side and Tower of the Black Peark on the other! It was originally produced exclusively for Gen Con 2008.

The Golden Auroch: Evil has always blown upon the hot winds of Sumer, but never has there been a land as oppressive and intent on discord than Ur. For decades the people of this city-state were held prisoner by their mage-queen, Nicrotis, and neighboring lands quivered whenever her armies marched. Central to Nicrotis' power, both at home and afar, was her possession of a holy statue called the Golden Auroch. In time, the gods took notice and intervened, reducing the entire city of Ur to dust in a fierce sandstorm that lasted forty years.

Tower of the Black Pearl: Once every decade, the tides of the Empyrean Ocean recede far enough to reveal the highest eaves of a mysterious undersea tower. Long ago this was the eldritch fastness of a powerful mage, but now the tower is known simply as the final resting place of the fabled Black Pearl.

Dungeon Crawl Classics Flip Book is available at RPGNow.com.

Hex Games Releases Herland: Perfect Genetic Utopia

Hex Games is proud to announce the release of its newest PDF, Herland: Perfect Genetic Utopia. Herland is a futuristic setting in the tradition of George Orwell's 1984, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World and, most obviously, Charlotte Perkins Gilman's Herland. It's a world where the women live in harmony because all the men have been shipped overseas. But things are not as peaceful as they seem--there's a secret war going on, and the player characters must choose a side. The PCs can join the Genetic Enforcers, and fight to preserve society, or join the Underground, and try to destroy it.

Herland: Perfect Genetic Utopia is an RPG setting designed for use with the QAGS 2nd Edition rules. The PDF includes detailed descriptions of the Greater North American government and society, as well as description of the Underground rebellion, rules for playing both sides, tips and optional rules for playing an all-female campaign with male players, plot ideas for your campaign, an introductory adventure, sample Words and GMCs, a fancy new character sheet, and hilarious generalizations about the fairer sex.

Herland marks the Hex Games debut of both writer Megan LeBoeuf and artist Veronica Pare. It retails for $3.99 and is available at RPGnow.com.
