The Solar Auxilia are getting their own Support Box with more artillery options to bring to the field. Drop some pain from down range!
The Legiones Astartes got their support box that added some long range mobile firepower and now the Solar Auxilia is bringing the heat. Make your enemy take cover with a powerful bombardment from these support units.
Just like the Legiones Astartes Support box last week, this kit is packed with firepower. While the elite Astartes get just four Rapier batteries in their Support box, the Solar Auxilia bring a whopping 12 to the field.
Four are outfitted with quad launchers, another four with laser destroyers, and four more with mole mortars – ingenious inventions whose explosive munitions burrow under the ground. Each also comes with the option to add a tiny additional Solar Auxiliary on foot on their base, as support crew.

It’s not just Rapier batteries either. There’s another 12 Tarantulas included that are split evenly between lascannon batteries and hyperios air-defence missiles. These little turrets are great for getting some automated defences up and running.
And finally, there’s also the Cyclops demolition vehicles in the mix. These are expendable, unmanned tanks that push forward with a surprise payload of explosives. Once they get to their target they are remotely detonated by Solar Auxilia operators who are at a safe distance.

There’s a bit of a discrepancy from the WarCom article and the box art. The box says 40 miniatures while the article says there are 28 in the box.
The article lists 12 Rapiers, 12 Tarantulas, and doesn’t list the number of Cyclops included. We’re guessing it’s 4 to get the number to 28 total. So why does the box say 40? Assuming there’s 28 models on a sprue the math doesn’t work if you just double the number of sprues either — that would get you 56, not 40. Are they counting the crew as additional models? Maybe? Now I just want to do an unboxing to find out for sure!
Release Update News
It appears the original plan was to get this game in stores in August. However it appears that date has shifted a bit.
“While we had initially hoped to release Legions Imperialis in August, the release date will now be a little later in the year. Don’t worry – you’ll be commanding a tiny legion of troops to victory very soon.”
Guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get our game on with Legions Imperialis. But it is coming soon!
The Solar Auxilia have so many tiny guns!
