Goatboy here, and I have been fixing up some Land Raiders for my World Eaters army. Here’s what I’m taking to my next tournament.
If you have seen any of my Chaos armies, they are a red wave of jerks so I can easily have Khorne-based ones, regular Chaos Space Marine ones, and angry Abaddon ones. This makes it easy for me to shift how I want to play and ensures all my models could make it to the tabletop if I wanted to.
10th Edition Means All the Wargear
With that in mind, I have been working on updating two Land Raiders to ensure they are properly WYSIWYG. This means adding Havoc launchers to each of them and creating a Combi-Weapon add-on as well. I don’t know about you, but Land Raiders for Chaos have always been as basic load out as you can, just due to how much they cost. Thus, I never had any of them with Havoc launchers or any other extra point-draining stuff. Now with the new 10th edition – everyone gets all the upgrades at the dealership because it is included in the price! My also have (red) leather bucket seats, but they are on the inside…
Now which Chaos army am I working on, you ask? Right now, I am on a World Eaters kick just due to never playing my originally painted army at an event and the fact that I don’t want to figure out a way to paint Accursed for my CSM version. The one I want to talk about today isn’t what I will bring to this weekend’s Warzone Houston event because I don’t feel like rushing through some Berzerkers. Instead, this is a weird idea that might be good in the post balance datasheet meta.
Of course, the theme in all of this is “Land Raiders in your face” so the initial build just takes two of them and figures out how to make them work. I get the feeling there is an avenue to get these guys kicking it. Especially with some fun interactions of the 12 transport spaces it has, the ability to take two units in said Land Raider, and how Scout interacts with all of this in a confined space full of nonsense.
I WANNA USE 2 WORLD EATERS LAND RAIDERS!

Land Raiders Tactics
The idea here is you fill each Land Raider with 3 Eightbound, 1 unit of Berzerkers, and a Character. The Eightbound have Scout which lets the Land Raider move 6” forward before the game begins. Then each of the Exalted Eightbound gets targeted by Lord Invocatus (Lord Avocado), who then gives the unit he is with and all the others Scout which allows you to move them 6 inches too.
Now you have a ton of crazy angry World Eaters nonsense who have moved closer and are ready to pounce. You end up going first, throw out the +2 to move and advance/charge blessing, and you got a whole slew of plastic dudesmen all in your opponent’s business. That is a lot of beefy-beef coming at you, pissed off as all hell, and ready to wreck your opponent in the face with piles of whirring chain-whaetevers.
Of course there isn’t any Angron. But sometimes you just need a bunch of raving idiots to get the job done instead of one giant meanie. It feels pretty neat, would probably look cool on the tabletop, and leave you more than enough time to get a beer or two.
Skulls for the Skull Throne! I’ll tell you all how it turned out.
