I just learned of the passing of actor Ron Ely. He was my childhood Tarzan. Even though the show was 20 years old, it was a staple of 80s TV on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I watched it all the time and loved it. Then, around the mid-80s, I discovered Doc Savage: Man of Bronze. It was silly, but I loved it as well. In the late 80s, there was the revival series Sea Hunt, in which Ron Ely played a sea adventurer. I only saw a few episodes, but I loved it, too.
The shows and movies Ely starred in provide great ideas for tabletop RPG sessions, especially pulp, and superheroes.
