The Stormcast Eternals are getting featured in the next series for Warhammer Heroes. Get ready for blind box buying for these miniatures.
Games Workshop has announced the next series for the Warhammer Heroes. Series 5 is going to focus on the Stormcast Eternals and it’s a wide group of characters for this set.
“Warhammer Heroes returns with a new series of miniatures – seven unique Stormcast Eternals who collectively form the Gladitorium Primes. They represent the breadth of the Stormcast Eternals archetypes, arrayed together in the struggle against the dark gods.”

We’ve got a look at each of the new characters and it’s quite the roster to behold. They represent a bunch of different units. However, these are all “Primes” which means they are basically the squad leaders. So it’s a set of characters that you could use as a group in Warcry or as a squad leader for their respective units.
The one exception is Knight-Arcanum Axactus Krane which is being labeled as a “rare miniature” from GW. He’s the leader of this squad. That said, let’s check out these miniatures.

This set of Gladitorium Primes does seem neat for Stormcast Players. I like the fact that even if you don’t collect all 7 of them you can slot them into their respective squads. In terms of rules for Warcry, they can be used as the Heroes of the Gladitorium warband. Each miniature is also push fit as well.
Blind Buy Boxes? Good Luck…
There is one more thing to address. And this is one I’m not thrilled about…
Every display unit will have eight blind boxes, but unlike previous Warhammer Heroes series’, there is no guarantee you will get all seven miniatures if you buy a full unit of eight.
I’m not sure how I feel about this other than “I don’t like the sound of that.” I wonder if GW is going to actually print the odds of getting the characters on the box now. I guess we’ll find out soon enough as these Blind Buy Boxes are coming to European and US retailers this weekend. Australia, New Zealand, China, and Japan will get their sets later this year.
I get that GW is wanting to make this set “collectable” but this just seems a *tad* bit predatory. And I’m only saying that because they called it out. Oh well. At least they told us this time…
