The Chaos Space Marines have a naughty detachment thanks to Fabius Bile. Say hello to the Grotmas Gift of the Creations of Bile!

I hope you Chaos Marine fans are going to like this one. Move over pesky cultists and daemon allies. It’s time for the Heretic Astartes Infantry to step in and do some work. With some augments from the Clonefather himself…

via Warhammer Community

“Abhorrent warbands of augmented Chaos Space Marines, the Creations of Bile display the depths of the Primogenitor’s dark genius. Whether devoted to Fabius Bile’s search for prize specimens and forbidden knowledge or bartered to ambitious warlords in return for great riches, these warriors are augmented beyond the gene-smithing and the Warp-born mutations, so as to expand the web of the Clonefather’s sinister influence. “

Creations of Bile Grotmas Detachment

The theme around this list, if you couldn’t tell by now, is “augmented” Chaos Space Marines. Courtesy of Fabius Bile. It really leans in to bringing Heretic Astartes Infantry and (if you want the most out of it) Fabius Bile as your warlord. The detachment rule is Experimental Augmentations. It’s basically a chart that you can use it one of two ways. You can either choose one option and that sticks around for the entire battle. Or you can randomly roll two dice and get both augmentations. And if you happen to bring Fabius Bile you can opt to re-roll one or both dice. Oh and duplicate rolls don’t stack/have an additional effect.

Personally, I think rolling is the way to go. For starters you’re already augmenting Chaos Space Marines. They aren’t exactly slouches to start. So any boost is going to be a cherry on top. And getting two? Now we’re just getting greedy. Furthermore, I’m going to assume you’re running with Fabius Bile as well. Because he’s only 85 points and that re-roll is REAL nice. If nothing else it helps to prevent duplicates.

Bring On The Bile Stratagems

As we’ve seen with the previous detachments there are four enhancements and six stratagems. Again, the focus here is on Heretic Astartes Infantry. If you’re really into running hordes of Chaos Marines in your CSM army I can see this being a really nice detachment to try. I’d probably take the Helm of All-Seeing just for the Deepstrike protection. For stratagems there’s Diabolic Regeneration which can bring back D3 destroyed models (if they are battleline). Plus there’s Monstrous Visages which causes a -1 to be hit in the shooting or fight phases when you use it. That’s not too shabby!

Again, if you’re looking at a list with Fabius Bile, I can totally see trying Creations of Bile out. It just gets better with more Chaos Space Marines, too.

I wasn’t expecting the gifts to the Chaos Space Marines to be this good. Being naught seems to have paid off…
