We’ve just enjoyed a banner year for Star Trek Adventures! The year 2024 saw the release of The Federation-Klingon War Tactical Campaign, which added more player options, a full-scale campaign, and a complete tactical campaign overlay that can be used as a game expander or played by itself. Additional standalone adventures and free mission briefs were added to the line’s deep product list as well.
Perhaps most importantly, 2024 was the year of Second Edition. All core products were released, including the quickstart booklet, the Core Rulebook (in a standard edition as well as three exclusive cover editions), the Game Toolkit to expand the game’s possibilities, and the beginner-friendly second edition Starter Set.
Adding second edition to the overall Star Trek Adventures product line gives you and your fellow players a well-stocked toolkit that would make even Mr. Scott excited. With the strong compatibility between editions, you and your group can play a game set in any Star Trek era, with a multitude of styles of play, on any starship or station, with stakes as massive or minor as you so choose.
You could start on a broad level with an admiralty campaign and then drill down into a multi-captain campaign, a senior officers campaign, or a lower decker style campaign. You could play as Federation personnel, Ferengi merchants, Romulan spies, Klingon warriors, or any other Star Trek species or culture you can imagine. You could even pause playing multiplayer and run some solo missions using Captain’s Log, and then port characters and storylines back and forth between it and either or both game editions. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination. How will you choose to play Star Trek Adventures this year?
