U.S. and International
Game publisher Darrington Press has signed with Macmillan Publishers for sales and distribution of its RPG books to U.S. and international markets, the companies announced. The new distribution arrangements will begin this spring in time for the release of the publisher’s biggest RPG release to date, the tabletop RPG Daggerheart (see “Darrington’s ‘Daggerheart’ Revealed“). Macmillan will also handle Darrington RPG backlist.
The distribution agreement will allow Darrington Press RPGs to reach the book channel, in addition to its existing distribution in the hobby channel. “Crafting and inspiring storytelling through games has always been our passion, and our partnership with Macmillan will allow us to share our roleplaying books to an even broader audience,” Darrington Press parent Critical Role Chief Operating Officer Ed Lopez said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
This is Macmillan’s first move into distributing game titles; it’s previously distributed graphic novels published by Drawn & Quarterly and Bloomsbury, as well as its own graphic novel titles from First Second Books and other Macmillan imprints.
