Loot Studios has established itself as a 3D printable miniature company. Last year, at Spiel Essen, the company was pitching Malediction.

  • The first 3D printable miniatures card game on the market.
  • A skirmish wargame with lore created by Dragonlance’s Tracy Hickman

The game is about to go live on GameFound, but there’s still time if you’re quick to pre-register for freebies.

While one big aspect of Malediction is that you can use 3d printing for the minis, you don’t need to. The box contains standees. If you have a 3D printer, you’ll be pleased to know that design files are part of the package.

Alvaro Ribeiro, co-founder and Art Director at Loot Studios said back in September,

As gamers ourselves, it was only natural for us to go beyond our subscription services. And to keep breaking the barriers of the gaming industry, we made this the first 3D printable miniatures card game on the market.”

All the pre-supported 3D files are included. You just have to download and 3D print them to add highly detailed models to your game.”

Loot Studios offers subscriptions (sci-fi and fantasy) of STL bundles to nearly 30,000 members. The models have stats for RPGs and war games, and there have been adventures, too, but Malediction is the first tabletop game Loot has designed.

Players explore the perilous region of Maledictionas a Seeker, one of the champions vying for control of long-lost relics. The game has four unique factions, each with strengths and strategies to master.

Steve Kimball, Publishing Studio Managing Director, added,

We were aiming not only at a rich lore but also at an innovative way of playing, and the miniatures card game (MCG) format was perfect for it, because it combines the movement strategy typical from wargames with the deck customization features from TCGs.”

To win the game, you must use your faction’s strengths to fight your opponents Units and capture relics to earn more victory points. And due to the high replayability levels, no match is ever the same.”
