Pathfinder Unveils The ‘Shades Of Blood’ Player’s Guide

Get ready for an all new adventure path with a free new Player’s Guide that details how to prepare for the upcoming Shades of Blood.

Shades of Blood is an upcoming new adventure path that takes players into the mysterious realm of Azlant. And a new Player’s Guide, a free PDF supplement designed to give players exactly what they need in order to make characters especially suited for the adventure. Which, weirdly enough, doesn’t include aquatic backgrounds.

But, all things considered, this is a handy primer for the upcoming adventure path. And it’s a great way to find some inspiration for your next character. So, if you’ve got a Pathfinder 2E game coming up, get ready to dive right on in.

Shades of Blood Player’s Guide – Available Now

The Shades of Blood Adventure Path will take players into the remains of the once-great civilization of Azlant. There, on a remote island settlement, a massive column of shadow erupts from the sea, and shadowy creatures pour forth into Golarion. What ensures will throw the whole region into disarray as pebble after pebble begins a mighty avalanche unless your players can stop it!

And the Player’s Guide is exactly the kind of prep you need to prepare for this. Here’s a look at how your character might be connected to the adventure path:

“You were hired as a research assistant to an astronomer who was hoping to study a stellar eclipse, a rare astronomical phenomenon. You arrive at Talmandor’s Bounty and take part in the preparations for an excursion into the jungle to study the event at an ancient Azlanti observatory—and then things go poorly. Can you help figure out what caused the column of shadow and put a stop to it? If you think you can, get your characters ready for the Shades of Blood Adventure Path.”

Inside the Player’s Guide for Shades of Blood, you’ll find a few new options to play with, made specifically for this campaign:

• Character suggestions, including recommendations for ancestries, classes, languages, skills, and feats well suited for this Adventure Path.
• Six new backgrounds specific to a character signing up to venture to ruined Azlant, such as Stargazer, Knack for Contraptions, and Student of the Ancients.
• A condensed gazetteer of Talmandor’s Bounty so you can get a feel for your new home away from home.
