Sean Doogan thought it was just another job—flying a wealthy tycoon and his team into the heart of the Amazon. But when the expedition takes a deadly turn, he and archaeologist Dr. Kelly Lindstrom find themselves trapped in a nightmare beyond imagination. The jungle is unforgiving, the stakes are life and death, and something ancient has awakened. With danger closing in from all sides, survival will take more than just luck—it will take everything they’ve got.

I Wrote a Novella

But you probably know that already since I listed it above. Some of you may know that I studied screenwriting in college. Over the past decades, I wrote a number of feature screenplays, which have been rotting away on my hard drive.

In January, I decided to revisit one of them. The result was Temple of the Monkey King, a jungle adventure novella. I’m still working on the sequel to my novel The Spaceport Gambit, but I may turn some of my other screenplays into books as well.

“A Nicely Written Little Cryptid Tale…”

“Two locales that make me grab a book without much thought are those in the Amazon or Arctic. Throw in a mysterious Cryptid tale and I’m all in. This book scratched both the Amazon and Cryptid itch. It’s an excellently written book that grabbed my attention from the first page through the very ending. It’s a short book (novella really) and even better with short chapters. It’s a quick read and moves at a fast pace with interesting characters, not your cardboard cutout type either. It has lots of twists and turns with some mayhem but not overly graphic. If there’s a sequel with these main characters, I’d certainly read it.” – Five Star Amazon Review by Tolkien Trekkie

This is the first review I received on my novella Temple of the Monkey King.
