Director Krennic is in the house along with his private forces. It’s time to Deploy the Garrison and check this kit out up-close!

Rogue One is probably one my favorite Star Wars movies these days. That’s for a lot of reasons. But one of those reasons is that the “Big Bad” from that movie was Director Krennic. That’s why I’m so glad that Atomic Mass Games sent me a preview copy of this one to show off! It’s time to hit the unboxing button and Deploy the Garrison!

Deploy the Garrison Unboxing

As we typically do, we are going to start with the base contents. In the box you’ll find pretty much what you’d expect from an Atomic Mass Games product these days. You’ve got all the cards and sprues in separate plastic bags and you’ve got the flyer with the QR code to the assembly instructions.

Now, as far as the cards go, you get four play sets of the cards — one for each supported language. That’s pretty standard these days.

You also get a single set of the cards for the Shatterpoint initiative deck, too. Furthermore, each character also has their combat stance cards, again in all the supported languages.

Now, if you’re looking for a deep-dive on the cards and better pics of the actual card/stats we did that already. There’s even a follow-up article for just the Death Troopers, too.

For the sprues, you get the main set for all the miniatures as well as two sets of the four different Shatterpoint Bases.

Overall, this was a pretty straightforward set. What was nice about this one is that you do end up with two of those supporting units which is nice. It’s rare to see a box of Shatterpoint come with a total of six miniatures, too. Now, on to the miniatures themselves!

Deploy the Garrison Miniatures

Kicking things off for the miniatures we have Director Krennic. He’s honestly got a very subdued pose with his hands grasping in front of him. He’s just standing there surveying the battlefield, quietly judging everyone, and looking disappointed. The one stand out feature he has compared to other Imperial Officers is that cape of his! No wonder he looks down on everyone — who’s going to match his sense of style? Lando?

Next up we have the Death Troopers. Now, I’m cheating a little because I put the Death Trooper Specialist in this group shot.  The other two Death Troopers are honestly kind of same-sy. I suppose that’s fine as we’re talking about the faceless oppressors of the Empire. But hey, they do look intimidating! I wouldn’t want to see these guys knocking down (or probably kicking down) my door.

The final batch is the Shoretroopers. This is one unit I’d like to see more from. I know they were really only shown off in Rogue One and were kind of specific to the Garrison there. But I still think a “beach” unit is funny. I can imagine that it’s probably the deployment that’s most sought after by troopers in general. I bet those guys spent their off time drinking Mai Tais and various other Tiki Drinks. Too bad the rebels came in and blew their whole base up…

It’s a good looking set of units for Star Wars: Shatterpoint! The Deploy the Garrison Squad Pack is currently up for Pre-order. It will be available on May 2, 2025.
