There are so many more X-Men to add to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Here’s a few more we would love to see!
Y’all — there are SO many X-Men characters in Marvel: Comics. I know I’ve mentioned a few before. And I also know there’s a few I keep bringing up. Like Polaris. Or Dazzler. And even Banshee. So today, I’m going to bring up a few others that I don’t think have gotten the same amount of spotlight. So let’s dive into these X-Men members!
Thunderbird/Warpath
Okay so this one is a double-whammy. These two characters are brothers. And also the same character. Confused? Let me explain. The first Thunderbird was John Proudstar. He was an X-Men character and “Because Comics!” he ended up dying in an X-Men storyline. His brother, James Proudstar then took over as Thunderbird in New Mutants #16 (June 1984). Eventually he became Warpath. Oh and to make matters even more confusing, the OG Thunderbird was resurrected after 45 real-time years during X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #5. (2021). So yeah…confusing! But that’s all the more reason I really hope we get one (or both) of them added. Warpath in X-Force would be awesome!
Xorn
Xorn was introduced during Grant Morrison’s New X-Men run in 2001. Kuan-Yin Xorn, not to be confused with his twin brother Shen Xorn (also called Zorn), is a mutant with a really awkward power; He’s got a small star for a head.
For some reason this also granted him healing powers in addition to electricity and magnetism manipulation powers. He actually also used those powers to impersonate* Magneto for a time. “Because Comics!” Anyhow, he’s instantly recognizable because of the unique metal helmet that he has. He’s also got a deeper powerset that could be fun to see on the tabletop. I all depends on which direction you’d want to take this character.
*Side note: there’s a lot of history here with the whole Xorn/Magneto storyline. Writer Grant Morrison actually wanted “Xorn” to be fake and for him to be Magneto the whole time. There’s also clues in his run pointing to this. But the editors actually like Xorn as a separate character. And they also liked Magneto being his own character, too. Anyhow, retcons happen — “Because Comics!”
Armor
I know I’ve mentioned Armor before. Hisako Ichiki, aka Armor, has the mutant power of creating an impenetrable psionic exoskeleton (body armor) around herself. While in this form she’s also got super human abilities of strength, reflexes, stamina, durability, etc. But, as I’ve written before, I really just want to see this character on the tabletop because I KNOW AMG would make an absolutely amazing miniature out of this one. They have tinkered with miniatures in clear plastic already. I hope Armor gets the same treatment!
Cannonball
Sam Guthrie, aka Cannonball, has been around since 1982. He first appeared in the Claremont Era of the X-Men as a part of the New Mutants. Personally, I’ve always been curious about this character and, to be honest, I sometimes get him confused with Speedball. To be fair, he does create a blastwave behind him that allows him Jet Propulsion while Speedball creates a Kinetic Shockwave behind him that also allows him to move at high speeds…
Anyhow, Cannonball has had a long career as a New Mutant, X-Men, X-Force, and even an Avenger at one point. So he’s been around for a while. Personally, I’d just like to see him added to MCP as another very fast character that zooms around the tabletop and causes zoomy problems to deal with.
There’s still a TON of X-Men characters out there — who would you like to see added to MCP?
