Spider-Man is really the heart of Marvel in a lot of ways. So here’s a few of his friends and enemies we want in Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

When it comes to Marvel Heroes Spider-Man is really the quintessential hero. And yeah, Peter Parker never has it easy but he’s got more heart that anyone else. What’s why it’s so easy to root for him. Now, we’ve already talked about some foes that, frankly, I’m surprised aren’t in Marvel: Crisis Protocol already. The Scorpion probably being the most obvious one. So today I wanted to revisit a few more Spider-Man supporting characters that I hope we get one day.

Anti-Venom

No, Anti-Venom doesn’t have a split personality. Anti-Venom is another symbiote off-shoot of Venom. It’s creation was due to Mr. Negative interacting with white blood cells in Eddie Brock that still has some Venom Symbiote in them. “Because Comics!” Anyhow, this spawned (basically) a new Anti-Symbiote that can also make curative antibodies.

Both Eddie Brock and Flash Thompson have been bonded to Anti-Venom. Personally, I’d like either version (or both) to join the game. There’s also been another host named Ishaan Pai…but that was a short run and it wasn’t 100% clear if that was actually the Anti-Venom symbiote or not. But that’s not the point. I just think Anti-Venom could have some really could for a really cool model and be a neat addition as well.

Alistair Smythe – Spider-Slayer

You’ll have to forgive me for not using his comic book version as an image for Alistair Smythe. However, I grew up watching the 90’s Spider-Man show and this is the version I would want to join MCP. And yeah, Smythe has had some cool comic book versions, too…but c’mon! This cybernetically enhanced version has those weird back …things. And I remember them shooting lasers or something. I really need to go back and watch that TV show.

ANYHOW, I greedily want Alistair Smythe in the game just for the nostalgia hit and really for no other reason. Or maybe his Spider-Slayer bots…that would work too!

Madame Web

No! Not the movie version. I don’t even want to get into that here. Cassandra Webb is technically a mutant. She’s got clairvoyance, precognition, and telepathy powers. She’s also highly intelligent. She appears as an old woman hooked up to a machine that looks like webbing.

This is another one of those characters that I think might be hard to translate from the panel to the tabletop. However, I think it could be done as a really cool miniature. And hey, if Atomic Mass Games can make Professor X a tabletop miniature, I’m pretty sure they can handle Madame Web. Then again, I think the movie pretty much killed any chance of seeing her in MCP. Oh well.

Superior Spider-Man (Otto Octavius)

I’ve mentioned this version of Spider-Man recently. But I just wanted to reiterate how cool I think this suit is. I know it’s really Otto Octavius piloting Peter’s body. But I think the extra limbs are rad and I like the darker design. Maybe I should have just gone with Iron Spider instead. But personally, I think I’d prefer a slightly evil version like Superior Spider-Man.

Knull

Okay, I know that technically Knull’s story is more of a Venom/Symbiote story line and not a Spider-Man. But since you can’t really have Venom in Marvel without Spider-Man, I feel like this is an exception I’m willing to make. If you’re not familiar or only vaguely familiar with Knull, he’s the god of the Symbiotes. He’s been dubbed the King in Black for that reason. I also read that he was on screen in the movie Venom: The Last Dance. But I skipped that one (as did a lot of people, apparently).

That said, I’m more going based off the comic book version of him. To say he’s powerful is an understatement. Honestly, if Knull does get a miniature he probably should get a Threat Level 7 or a special Comic Encounter or SOMETHING. This guy created All-Black The Necrosword. He’s kill Celestials. Knull is almost unstoppable. Almost.

It took an Eddie Brock, powered by the Venom Symbiote, infused with the God of Light, and combining Mjolnir AND the board of the Silver Surfer to defeat Knull. It was an epic fight.

Sidenote: Can we get THAT version of Venom in MCP? Maybe? No? Yeah. I don’t know if threat levels go that high. Fine. Let’s just get Knull and go from there.

What other Spider-Man Friends or Foes would you like to see added to Marvel: Crisis Protocol?
