Rooting out Rebels and pushing forward to victory with the new Scout Troopers for Star Wars: Legion.

The new Scout Troopers box is coming soon to Star Wars: Legion. This new plastic kit has brand new sculpts for the unit as well as all the new updates and packaging. We got sent a review copy from Atomic Mass Games and I’m the lucky one who got to dive into this box. So let’s see what the Scout Troopers are bringing to the tabletop!

The rules for the unit are available from the free print-and-play card updates from AMG. You can find all these same cards for the entire Galactic Empire range here.

Scout Troopers Unboxing

First up, as always, we’ve got the contents of the box. Inside you’ve got the miniatures, cards/tokens, and bases all in their own bags for packaging. At this point, I’ve got so many of these plastic bags I’ll be able to organize my bits box into plastic bags. I’m sure that’s a hobby project I’ll get to one day, right?

Anyhow, the box has everything you need to actually run this unit and I’m sure you already know the QR code on the flyer takes you to the instructions for building. So let’s check out the cards.

As mentioned these cards aren’t new — they got revealed already. However, in the box you’ll find cards for the unit for the four languages supported. Above I wanted to show off the English cards and upgrades as well as the flip side of the unit card. Those are in another language but the numbers and unit upgrades are the same. No shocker there.

On to the sprues…

Now I did have a couple of bits break off the sprue in transport. Thankfully, they were easy to find inside the plastic bag. It was the chest and leg on the right sprue set. In total there’s only 2 sprues for this unit and you get enough bits to build all seven Scout Troopers (and with their respective upgrades) in the box.

Personally, I do like the look of this unit quite a bit. Ever since I saw them as a kid in Return of the Jedi, I had an affinity for the Scout Troopers. I like that their armor looked lighter and was a mix of the armor plates and cloth. It made sense they were Scouts to me. The only thing I found odd was the fact they were in stark black and white against that vibrant green foliage of Endor. They might be Scouts, but they aren’t exactly sneaky…
