Another batch of products from Atomic Mass Games has a delayed release date. The Trump Tariffs strike the tabletop games industry again.
Yesterday, Atomic Mass Games put out a statement about more delays coming to expected products.
The unfortunate causalities this time are the upcoming Marvel: Crisis Protocol character pack for Avalanche, Exodus & Lady Mastermind as well as the Star Wars: Legion releases for the Outer Rim Outlaws and the IG-Series Assassin Droids.
Also, due to the chaos of the Trump Tariff situation, this time around we don’t have a new release date announced either. Hopefully these products don’t sit in limbo for too long.
An Evolving Situation
This is actually the third such delay from Atomic Mass Games this year. The first delay was announced on March 11, 2025 and the second such delay was announced March 26, 2025. Both of those delays were attributed to “shipping delays.” This was likely from the increase in pressure from global shipping demand to get ahead of the Trump Tariffs that were imposed on April 2, 2025.

But my personal favorite is the breakdown from from Loren Coleman of Catalyst Games. It’s an amazingly well written piece that uses math and examples of how these tariffs are impacting the tabletop industry.
Again a tariff is defined as a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports. The Trump Tariffs are hitting the economy as a whole and tabletop industry is particularly vulnerable due to the nature of the products produced. The US simply doesn’t have the manufacturing infrastructure in place to produce these types of products on this scale. It could take months or years to spin up what’s essentially a niche industry in the US. By that time who knows what the situation with these tariffs will be.
