Goatboy here with a 10th Edition Death Guard Virulent Vectorium army that can drone its way to victory.

Goatboy here and in my ranking of favorite Chaos armies, the Death Guard army is usually hovering around #3-4 depending on the mood I am in.  With both the World Eaters and Death Guard out at the same time and my love for the guys in red I most likely won’t be messing with Death Guard for a bit.  I’ll probably still play the best video game on my phone – the GW Army Builder – when the Death Guard get added. But gameplay wise, I will probably wait for a bit before rethinking about Morty’s Dirty Bois.

Right now the detachment I would probably work towards is the Virulent Vectorium just due to the nature of how it works.  It has solid Stratagems, a solid army rule, and powerful enhancements.  Heck it has the best thing to add to a Daemon Prince with Revolting Regeneration and that sweet 5+ Feel No Pain for a mini Morty.  All of these things would push me towards that and some kind of “massed” army list utilizing some of the powerful Datasheets in order to grind the enemy down.

Death Guard Virulent Vectorium Of Victory Tactics

If you haven’t read the rules of the Foetid Bloat Drones with Heavy Blight Launchers you should go read them now. They are Strength 10, d6+2 Blast weapons, that are AP – 2, and flat damage 3.  Their range is 36″ and they will be a common thing you will see just like the Deathshroud Terminators are going to be.  You mix this with the Lord of Virulence’s power and you got a reroll to hit option on an enemy unit as well.  The idea of most of this is just a bulky army that can get in the way, have enough play to sticky objectives, and do a bunch of damage with some of their Melee threats as needed.  The Tallyman is just going to sit in the back and maybe get you a CP from time to time.  The biggest issue in all of this is when can you get your hands on the Lord of Poxes unless you are grabbing that new boxed set.

I am guessing the Deathshrouds are going to go up in the future so this was set up to have ways to gain points as needed to keep the army trucking.  I just like how simple the Detachments rules are and how it just gives you more abilities to win and control the field with your stinky bois.  It also looks like a fairly unique army with only a few bits of duplication that you could easily swap out to get more variety if needed.

All Hail the XIVth Legion!
