It’s time for the Gloomspite Gitz to get their moment in the sun. It’s their new rules from the Scourge of Ghyran in Age of Sigmar.

Well we are on Day 4 of the Scourge of Ghyran path here. This time the Gloomspite Gitz are getting the goodies. Games Workshop is giving them two new battle formations, a trio of spells from the Lore of Frazzlegit, and two alternate Warscrolls to use. So let’s not waste any time and dive into these magic mushrooms already!

Scourge of Ghyran – Gloomspite Gitz Rules

First up we have the two battle formations to cover. Sunbiter Pack is definitely the option you want to investigate if you’re running a lot of the new Snarlfang units. Why? Because it grant the Companion weapons an additional Rend when they charge. Now, this is limited to just 3 friendly Gitmob units that charged this turn…but I’m sure you can sort that out.

The other option is Gittish Tide. This one is pretty straightforward as it adds 1 to the control score of a non-Squig Mooncvlan unit that’s contesting an objective. This is a nice trick to have around and should really make taking objectives a breeze for the Moonclan due to sheer numbers.

Spell Lore of Frazzlegit

“The little green gitz also get the Lore of Frazzlegit. Most grots hate the sun, but sometimes its power can prove useful. Bright Fright makes your own grots run away, which is very useful for getting them out of a scrap pain-free. On the other hand, Gitspeed encourages them to get a hustle on (possibly even towards the foe).”

It’s curious that the WarCom text didn’t mention Gaze of Glareface — but this is also included with the Lore of Frazzlegit, too. In any case, these are a few spells for your wizards to use in battle. I think these are an interesting interpretation of how the Gitz would interact with the “sun” in the Mortal Realms. They really revolve around moving/retreating/slowing targets. I guess getting burned or blinded by the light is a good motivator.

Gloomspite Warscroll Options

The two alternate warscrolls are for two different Fanatic units. Yep. Get ready for these old balls-and-chains-of-pain to come flying out and mess up the enemy.

The Loonsmasha Fanatics are a classic reinterpreted for the Scourge of Ghyran. They are going to come flying out of your Stabbas and Shootas and will (likely) get to pass through an enemy unit  causing mayhem along the way.

These Sporesplatta Fanatics trade in their metal balls of death for fungal pain-bringers. These versions have some serious movement shenanigans to pull. That extra 2D6″ move in the End Phase is going to be able to tie-up the backline and cause problems for the enemy plans.
