Games Workshop has FIVE new characters coming to join the Space Marines along with Combat Patrol boxes to match.
The Big Summer Preview has some big news for the Space Marines. There’s five characters coming. Some are new. Some are old. One of them is going to be in a Combat Patrol. And all five of them are from First Founding Chapters. It’s a good time to be a Space Marine fan.
Salamanders – Vulkan He’stan
Vulkan He’stan is literally walking through fire. Thankfully, the Salamanders Combat Patrol is bringing the heat. This one certainly going to be a hot pairing.
Darnath Lysander
Lysander is back with a new miniature and possibly one of the greatest Storm Shields ever sculpted. He’s also in Terminator Armor and has been re-scaled to be inline with the newer Terminator miniatures.
The Imperial Fist Combat Patrol is bringing the beef. Loads of heavy-hit options and just disciplined bolter fire. Gotta love the banner.
Iron Hands – Caanok Var
This is a new Character joining the Iron Hands. Caanok Car is also in Terminator armor and is in scale with the new miniatures. How about that power weapon, eh?!
At first, I was thinking that this Combat Patrol looks a little light. Then I realized those are Heavy Intercessors along with TWO Firestrike Servo-Turrets. Maybe it’s not so light after all.
White Scars – Suboden Khan

There’s a new Khan riding in on a very fancy grav-bike. This model is awesome and has some great details. Furthermore, he’s going to be included as part of the White Scars Combat Patrol.
I have a funny feeling that this is going to be a popular boxed set as it comes with the Khan. It’s going to bring the speed for sure.
Raven Guard – Aethon Shaan
Aethon Shaan is the NEW Chapter Master of the Raven Guard. What happened to Shrike? Basically he decided that he was better off in the field as the stealthy one. Or maybe he just got tired of all the paperwork. Whatever the case, Shaan is a sweet looking new miniature for Raven Guard fans out there. I bet this one is going to show up in more than a few painting competions.
The Combat Patrol is loaded with speed. Eddie called this one “Fast and Phobos” and yes, that’s exactly what it is.
Space Marines Scale
Here’s a quick look at a few of the new miniatures in scale. The Primaris Assault Marine is there for comparison.
Space Marine JoyToy Helmet
Also shown off was a new JoyToy Space Marine helmet! The insides light up, too. It also has a nice stand which you can optionally purchase with the helmet.
What do you think of the new Space Marine characters?
