Marvel: Crisis Protocol’s roster expands once more with new Brotherhood Mutants. It’s Avalanche, Exodus, and Lady Mastermind!
Released this past weekend in the wild the new mutants of the Brotherhood are here. It’s a trio of them in a single character pack. I went to my local store and snagged myself a copy to show you all today. So let’s get into this new kit!
I’m pretty excited for each one of the characters in this pack for different reasons. Lady Mastermind opens up some dirty tricks on the mystic/psychic front for the Brotherhood. Exodus is another mystic/psychic and he’s a heavy hitter. And then there’s Avalanche which is a character I’ve been hoping to see for a while. I really want to run him with Blob, Pyro, and Mystique. Not because there’s some secret combo there — It’s just a nod to the old X-Men ’92 cartoon for me!
Unboxing The Character Pack
Opening things up it’s pretty much what we’ve come to expect from AMG at this point. All the cards are in a bag while the sprues are in another. This set also supports four languages and you’ll get a play set of all the cards. Speaking of which…
Now, this isn’t the best picture of the cards. I know, it’s a shame. However we’ve got better pics for those cards in the rules breakdown I did for this kit a short time ago. So if you really want to see those rules check out the link.
As for the Sprues, you get one for each character as well as a set of bases for them, too:
I actually did take the time to assemble this crew. Overall, these miniatures were pretty straightforward so don’t expect any tricky bits here. I will say the strangest one was Lady Mastermind’s miniature. She has a tree bit that needs to be attached to the psychic projection of the large cat leaping from her base. I recommend building the cat and the projection part first. You’ll see where it all attaches afterwards. As for Exodus, I would also recommend attaching this body to the energy blasts on his base before adding his cape. It’s just easier to do it that way.
Up Close With The Miniatures
Up first we have Lady Mastermind. I do like the pose of this miniature as she kind of looks like a boss. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by anything and maybe that’s why you should be wary of her. There’s some cool detailing with her costume and she’s got a lot of hair, too. That big cat is going to be a fun one to paint. I dunno if I’m going to do a spot pattern or just wimp-out with a “panther” look.
Next up is Avalanche. Again, I was really excited for this guy just because I grew up watching him battle the X-Men. He was always treated like goon in the show along with Pyro and Blob. I think it will be fun to recreate that team and see if I can fare better than their small screen counterparts.
The pose they have Avalanche in is also really cool. I like how they opted to showcase his powers. This tidal-wave of street-material rising up is great and I’m looking forward to painting this one up.
Finally, we have Exodus. This miniature was fun to build because as I was putting it together, I couldn’t help but appreciate the pose. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the weird shoulder-blade ornamentation, this could have a been an alternate Superman miniature.

The pose is very a no-nonsense “I’m above this” sort of thing. He’s flying up and he’s got that stern look. I just hope I can capture that when I paint it up.
This trio is a welcome addition to the range. Particularly if you’re a Brotherhood of Mutants player. I’m looking forward to getting them all on the tabletop!
