Thundercats Rolls Out New RPG, More to Come at SDCC

Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats hoooo! A new Thundercats RPG has been announced, and you won’t need sight beyond sight to learn more.

I mean it’s exactly what it says on the tin here, folks. There’s soon to be a new Thundercats RPG in town, coming to Kickstarter soon and then your tabletop not long after. It’s got thrills, chills, and enough sexy cat people to awaken something in anyone of any orientation. Designed by the team at Lynnvander games, the new RPG will be “fully adaptable to D&D 5E.” Here’s what we know.

Thundercats RPG in the Works

The new RPG is bound for Kickstarter soon (you can find a link to the page at the bottom of this article), but it is set to make a big debut at SDCC which starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend. So though details are a little sparse right now, more is coming very soon.

For now, it’s enough to know that in the Thundercats RPG, you’ll be able to either play as your own character, or play as one of the main characters you know and have complicated feelings about thanks to the cartoon. Also worth mentioning Lynnvander Games has an interesting pedigree. They work across a variety of game types, board games, card games, rpgs—their portfolio includes the Divinity: Original Sin Board Game as well as Star Trek Alliance and Shadowrun: Sprawl Ops.

As you might imagine, Thundercats are a popular choice for an RPG – though surprisingly, I do believe this is the first official Thundercats RPG. So you don’t have to worry about your gaming table getting DMCA’d, which hasn’t happened in real life yet, but hey give it time. In the meantime, more details are expecetd to emerge over the weekend, so check back soon!
