“Sev and Scorch are the squad’s hammer and anvil. One is a silent, relentless sniper. The other, a demolition expert with a flair for mayhem. Together, they form one of the most aggressive Supporting Units in Star Wars™: Shatterpoint, clocking in at 5 squad points with 8 stamina and 2 durability. A premium investment, but a potent one.”

Delta Squad – Sev and Scorch Rules Preview

Starting off with a speed boost, we have the ability Point Me At The Enemy And Stay Out Of My Way. This tactical ability allows them to get a free dash at the start of their activation. Now, if you’ve been following the rest of the Delta Squad Previews, then you know that this is going to allow them to be extra aggressive as the majority of the Delta Squad has more movement tricks.

Up next is YES! More Explosives! This ability does cost one force to use but it does exactly what it says. You get to target one enemy unit within range 3 and roll 5 attack dice. For every Expertise result, they take 1 damage. Additionally, if they take at least one point of damage, the target unit also gain Strain. Another ability that requires a force to use is Rule 17: Always Make Sure They’re Dead which is brutal sounding. This ability allows for a follow-up dash/5 dice attack combo after another Galactic Republic unit performs a combat action within range 3 of them.

Finally, it’s clear that these two make a great pairing with the rest of the unit. The ability I Love My Job seals the deal. This one grants Protection and Steadfast to them while they are contesting one or more Active objectives.

Sev & Scorch Stance Card

Their stance card is an interesting one. It splits the tracks into two very distinct rails — this alludes to which of them is taking the lead. Then again, both tracks pack quite a punch with loads of damage. It really just depends on what sorts of other effects you’d like to apply to the enemy. They also come with a base of 7 dice for their range attack and 6 dice for their melee. They really aren’t slouches in combat. It really does look like they are a great addition to the Delta Squad roster.
