Wizards of the Coast has placed Lorwyn Eclipsed, a new booster set for Magic: The Gathering, onto preorder. This set is slated to hit retail on January 23, 2026.
The Spider-Man spoilers are just getting into full-swing, and WotC is already initiating preorders for the Q1 2026 set, Lorwyn Eclipsed. This set was first hinted at back in 2023, and touted as Magic’s first return to the planes of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor in 15 years (see “2026 ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Sets“). Initial preorder listings indicate that the set will consist of the usual array of SKUs (Collector Boosters, Play Boosters, a Bundle, Commander Decks, Prerelease Kits, etc.) with the notable exceptions of two new product types.
The first product is a Draft Knight kit, which consists of 12 Play Boosters, a Collector Booster, 90 basic land cards, and 10 double-sided tokens. As most drafts require 24 packs to play, these kits are presumably for running the new Pick-Two Draft format, which is a four-person draft format. The additional Collector Booster is probably meant as prizing for this kit.
There will also be two different Preconstructed Decks available in Lorwyn Eclipsed. These decks con with 60 cards, 5 double-sided tokens, a reference cards, and a deck box; four of each deck comes in a display. Based on box contents, these decks could speculatively be some part of some sort of Challenger Deck series similar to the Standard Challenger Decks released in 2022 (see “‘Standard Challenger 2022’ Decklists“).
More information will likely become available closer to the set’s launch.
