Games Workshop drop a full color image from the “Rumor Engine” and we’ve got some guessing to do. It’s the future of Age of Sigmar!

We already had a Rumor Engine this week but GW has decided to do a bit of a bonus today. We’ve got a new image to dissect. But there’s a catch — we’ve got color AND clues to work with today.

The future of the game is bright – and there’s more to come for every existing faction, plus one or two bigger developments on the way. We blasted the Rumour Engine with a great gout of light from Azyr, and this is what it scried.

Only Krethusa the Croneseer could tell you what these are – but know this: there’s one for each Grand Alliance, and they’re coming soon.

The Four Teasers From The Age of Sigmar

What we know right off the bat is that each one of these images is from a different Grand Alliance. I’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s what. So I’m going to start from the top and we’ll do each image.

First up we have what I think is a shield. And what’s the symbol on the shield? Looks like a Fly in Nurgle’s style to me. Keep in mind this image could also be rotated to mess with us. But I think we’ve got a chaos update and Nurgle’s fingerprints are all over this one! A question I do have is if we’re looking at someone from the Slaves to Darkness army or if this is a Maggotkin — and if it’s a Daemon or Mortal for that matter. That’s exciting news either way.

For this one, I’m pretty sure we’re looking at someone from the Order side of things. I’m pretty sure that we’re looking at a girdle of some type with the face of an Orruk or Gobbo. And that’s clearly a red braid for someone’s flowing red beard…Gee, I wonder what faction that could be. If the rune and red hair aren’t Fyreslayer related, I’ll be shocked.

Gut plate?? Great Maw!? Are we about to see an Ogor update for the Mawtribes?!?! That would be pretty awesome as that’s one faction that could use some attention. I’m wondering if it’s an Ogor resculpt inbound or a new unit for the army to bring. Either option would be great in my book. It could also be a new character. It all depends on what GW is does with this range!

Finally, the last image is certainly from the Death Grand Alliance. And I’ve painted up enough of these to recognize an Ossiarch Bonereaper when I see one. That forearm is a sure sign and the creepy gas flowing from the container probably isn’t good news for the enemy. Is this a new alchemist or some other Mortisan? What strange magic are we looking at here? And when can I get my hands on this one to paint!?

The Future of Age of Sigmar

The future for the Age of Sigmar is looking good. I’m excited to see what else GW is baking in the oven for these images. There’s more to come to the Mortal Realms! Considering the new Helsmiths of Hashut are on the way I’m curious to see what else GW has planned. They did tease “one or two bigger developments on the way.” I wonder what that could mean.

Do they have another army waiting in the wings? What about future story lines ready to go? Are they teasing new game modes? I may be in the minority here but I think some sort of Armageddon version of AoS would be WILD. I’m not even sure how the rules would work for that but I’d totally be down just for the pure spectacle.

What else do you think Games Workshop is cooking up for Age of Sigmar?
