The Spider Family roster is expanding with a trio of new editions. We’re getting our first looks at Silk, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Ham!
I’ve been looking forward to this preview for awhile now. We’ve got Silk, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Ham on deck and coming to the tabletop soon! Today, we’re going to over each character’s card and I’m excited to see what they can do. So let’s get into it — with ladies first!
Silk Rules Preview
“Cindy Moon, a.k.a. Silk. Created by the bite of the same spider that bit Peter Parker, Cindy’s powers manifested in often uncontrollable ways at first but over time she learned to control them.
Silk enters Marvel: Crisis Protocol as a Threat Value 4 character with a solid stat line and a Long movement Speed. She also has the classic Wallcrawler along with a host of attacks and superpowers that should remind players of the rest of the Web Warriors”
Silk is an interesting character to me. Her backstory is an …interesting read and the recap above is just scratching the surface. I do like that she’s coming in as a Threat 4 character with defenses of 4/3/3 and 6/5 stamina. She’s not a rookie and has had training and this reflects that. Her Silk Sense allows her to re-roll 2 of those defense dice, including skull results so she can be quite tanky.
Her builder is a nice Spider Strike attack that comes with a Push on a wild. But what I also find impressive is her two other attacks are a beam and an AoE. In particular, her Fingertip Spinnerets can trigger slows on enemies. That’s important because of her Web of the Bride ability that gives her an energy when an enemy with slow ends a move within range 3 of her. You can really combo that with Caught in the Web to get her out of range 3 — if you’ve got enemies with slow on them!
Overall, I think she’s got some cool moves and some good ways to build energy besides just hitting things.
Her team tactic card allows for a massive “reroll all of its attack or defense dice” and that can be used by her or an ally once this round. She can also swap her attacks to Mystic, too. Not too shabby for 2 energy.
Spider-Ham Rules Preview
“It’s been a long time since Marvel: Crisis Protocol received a Threat Value 2 character, and most people are likely surprised to find it is a Web Warrior! Peter Porker was created when May Porker, a scientist, irradiated herself and bit Peter. Peter was a spider living in her home. He soon transformed into a pig like May and took the name Spider-Ham when he realized he still had his spider abilities and could use them to fight crime!”
So yeah! Spider-Pig…Where to start. Being a threat 2 I could see bringing Peter Porker to the tabletop if you’re just dead set on a list that has 2 Threat to spare. His defenses are 2/2/2 and he’s only got 3 stamina per side. He does have Spider-Nonsense (heh, I get it) to help with his defense rolls. However, when he takes damage, he drops all objectives.
As for the rest of his abilities, they are pretty much all as cartoony as you’d expect Spider-Ham to be. Poker Hijinks has got quite a list of effects. Unless you find a way to boost his attack roll, I don’t think you can trigger ALL of them at once. But if you roll hot you could trigger a cascade of silliness.
Web Yoink possibly causing Spider-Ham to be Pushed toward the target instead of the other way around seems fitting, too. I also really appreciate the Who’s You Calling a Cartoon? ability that can cause Stagger — if you can cause Shock and Stun first. That said, I don’t know if I have a list I’d want to run with Spider-Ham…but I might need to try him out just for fun.

As far as team tactic cards go this one is pretty wacky. That seems on brand for Spider-Ham. Basically, for each enemy within range 3, you roll 1 die and then resolve the effects based on what you rolled. You can see the effects above but I really think the Oh No! could be used to cause Spider-Ham to get into shenanigans. It’s would be hilarious if you got a bunch of skulls and then the enemy got to shove him around a bunch.
Spider-Man Noir Rules Preview
“This version of Peter Parker hails from Earth-90214, a universe where Earth is still in the 1930s and he plays the role of super sleuth as often as he does superhero. This Threat Value 3 character has fairly standard Stamina and defense values to go along with his Medium movement and the near ubiquitous, for Web Warriors, Wallcrawler superpower.”
I’m not mad about getting another Threat Level 3 Spider-Man, even if it’s Noir. While his stat-like looks rather basic with 3/3/3 and 5 stamina on both sides, that’s a little misleading. He’s got Spider-sense which makes his defensive rolls a tad more reliable. And he’s also got Inured to Pain as a super power that can be uses to reduce incoming damage by 1. Note: There’s no “down to a minimum of 1” on that power. That’s very important!
Hit the Pavement allow Noir to fling terrain size 2 or less a medium distance. And his “The Ol’ One, Two” is a actually pretty solid for a builder. It’s actually beneficial to swing twice at the same target with this as the follow-up because you’ll get extra dice on that second swing. Also, the extra advance short could be useful. I could see combining Crime Fighting Arsenal to blast a beam on a few enemies then using One-Two to make a follow-up hoping for Elusive to trigger so you still get a move.
Spider-Sleuth is a fun team tactic card to me. It allows you to sort of play a “mini-game” to see if you can score this one for bonus VPs. We don’t have a TON of ways to use these cards to score bonus VPs but they are totally worth checking out.
Currently, this product is up for Pre-order and has a release date of October 24, 2025.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Silk, Spider-Ham & Spider-Man Noir $54.99
“This Character Pack adds 3 new Spider-Verse Affiliation characters to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Silk uses her Spider-powers and heightened agility to strike fast and escape quickly. She is an excellent hit-and-run fighter. Spider-Ham uses his cartoon-like powers to take down foes, bringing hilarity and justice to the battlefield.Stalking the criminal underworld of 1930s New York, Spider-Man Noir packs a pistol that he uses for ranged attacks but has the durability of a street brawler.”
I’d make a quip about the Spiderverse, but I’ll leave that to Spider-Man’s writers.
