Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist – London GT 2025 Winner – Liam Vsl’s Veterans of the Long War

Liam Vsl has won the London GT again and brings with him a very interesting Veterans of the Long War build.

Here is the list to check out. This is a tricky CSM list that most likely won’t work for everyone.  It takes a lot of different tools and mixes them with a powerful set of Stratagems and abilities to truly control the game.  It is a very interesting list and really showcases how a powerful general can bring the most out of a bunch of different units and options. As you can see it has a ton of different weapons to bring to the table.  You mix that with Black Legions reactive move abilities, fights first options, and then all powerful reroll which lets you army handle just about anything.  Oh and it also has some of the most brutal non line of sight shooting left in the game with Obliterators.

Liam Vsl’s Veterans of the Long War Tactics

As you can see you have a Fabius Bile brick of fabulous boys to help control the table.  They are on smaller bases so their footprint is easy to hide or have hidden inside a Rhino.  The Nemesis Claw is another amazing edition that can turn off other stratagems as well as become a very powerful little murder unit.  The Predators are great damage potential for the army with a love of rerolls and Dark Pacts.  You have the normal Legionaires brick with Chaos Lord that can punch up so hard it is just brutal.

Then you got some fun pieces like the Warp Talons that can easily go out, touch a unit, and then redeploy later.  It is a lot to deal with and Liam wrecked the field with this list to win the LGT for a 3rd time in a row.  The Noise Marines are a fun addition too as they can just pour out a lot of firepower into armies and again love the chance to reroll with your hatred target from the Veterans of the Long War Detachment.

Congratulations to Liam as he appears to have figured out this game pretty well and wrecks people with Chaos Space Marines.  He is a true veteran of the long war and Warmaster.
