The Horus Heresy Mechanicum Army is getting even more support. Say hello to the deadly Myrmidon Destructors!

When it comes to the Mechanicum Army we’ve seen them revere the Omnissiah in many different ways. However, the Myrmidon Destuctors take it to a whole new level. A blending of man and machine, these new warriors are just a tease as to what will become of the Mechanicum in 10,000 years…

“These hulking amalgamations of flesh and metal are high ranking Tech-Priests that view combat as a way to divine the will of the Omnissiah, and their devastating salvoes as prayers. This nearly always seems to work out as their machine deity wanting them to atomise people with their abhorrent weapons – funny that.”

The new unit will come as a box of six brand new plastic miniatures. They will have access to a mix of weapons: Darkfire cannons and Irradiation Engines. Additionally, each miniature will also have access to two different head options. And to further customize these miniatures, you’ll have three servo-skulls that can be interchanged between the group.

Their rules will be made available in the Journal Tactical: Skitarii – The Steel Hand of Mars.

Personally, I’m really glad to see some more Mechanicum units. I’m just hoping that this (eventually) leads to a full-on Dark Mechanicum release for the Horus Heresy. While you can technically run them already, I’d really like to seem more Dark Mechanicum specific options. You know the ones.

That said, these are a nice addition to the roster. I don’t know about you but I’m also getting Chaos Obliterator vibes from these units. I know those aren’t exactly the same thing but still…It’s almost like the idea of Obliterators before the Daemon Forges of Chaos took over.

The melding of man and machine…What do you think of this new unit?
