We’ve got the latest Marvel: Crisis Protocol characters in the house and built. Let’s take a look at these heroes up close!
Atomic Mass Games sent me a review copy of the new character pack for Blue Marvel and Spectrum and I’m pretty excited about these two. We’ve seen their rules already and I’ve been looking forward to dropping them in a few lists. As of writing, I’m still waiting to see what the full Mighty Avengers Affiliation will end up being. That said, I wouldn’t mind dropping Blue Marvel into most teams as he seems like a bit of a beat stick! Anyhow, let’s get into it!
Really quick note on the rules-side for this one. AMG mentioned that there was an errata coming for Spectrum’s abilities. Specifically her Pulsar Wave which has a printed cost of 0 on the card. That’s an error and will be updated. Having said that, I have it on good authority that it’s going to cost 4 power when it updates…so just keep that in mind.
Blue Marvel & Spectrum Unboxing
Kicking things off as I always do we’ve got the standard contents here from an Atomic Mass Games product. There’s the flyer with the QR code that links to the build instructions (it’s on the back) plus the two baggies for the cards and sprues. Nothing crazy here. On to the cards!
As for the cards, this set comes in three supported languages this time around. You’ll get a full play set of cards in each language here. If you want a closer look at the rules themselves, I covered those already in more detail with much better pics from AMG. And again, as I mentioned in the note above Spectrum’s Pulsar Wave is going to get an errata to correct the printed cost.
Sprue-wise we’ve got the two character sprues and the bases. They are both on the same standard 35mm bases that MCP uses. So, you’ll probably end up with some more spares here. I did get a chance to assemble them and they had a few quirks which I wanted to cover. So let’s do that now!
Blue Marvel & Spectrum Up Close
Both of these builds are pretty straight forward but they do have their fiddly bits. Blue Marvel has those power effects that float around his hands. They do have connection points on the forearms so they aren’t too crazy. Just make sure you get them secure before you attach the arms to the torso.
There’s also the anti-matter power uh…streams(?) floating up from the base. One of them is attached to the miniature itself so that’s simple enough. The other is kind of a free floater. I bring that up because base positioning can cause some weird overlap. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re trying to match the exact positioning on the box.
Overall, Blue Marvel was more complicated to assemble than Spectrum. But I wouldn’t say that this was a particularly difficult build overall. Just clean the sprue burs off and it should go together really easily.

Spectrum might look complicated to build but she was really easy to assemble. The scenic basing is really just two parts and I glue them together before I attached it to the base. The power coil coming off the rock is already there and there’s a nice slot to glue her right foot into. Easy-peasy.
Now that I’m looking at these pictures this zoomed in I do see a burr or two that I missed. I’ll clean those up and once it’s painted it won’t even be noticeable. I really appreciate that the energy rings around her hands were already attached, too. Those arms being one piece each was a nice surprise.
Again, build-wise, these two weren’t the most difficult and I think they look great. Now I just need to wait for the weather to cooperate so I can do some batch priming to get them ready for the tabletop!
The Character Pack for Blue Marvel and Spectrum is hitting shelves this weekend with an official release date of January 9, 2026!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Blue Marvel & Spectrum $42.99
This pack brings two new characters to Marvel: Crisis Protocol, the powerhouse Blue Marvel and the leader of the Mighty Avengers Spectrum to the game. Spectrum adds a new Affiliation, the Mighty Avengers to the game with a new leadership that allows members of her squad to be able to transfer some of the Power they gain to their allies.
The Mighty Avengers is an exciting mixture of characters from the Marvel: Crisis Protocol catalogue, making it extremely compelling for veteran players with large collections. Blue Marvel adds a new 5 Threat to both Defenders and the Mighty Avengers Affiliations. Highly efficient with his actions, he serves as a potent tank and damage dealer who can attack from both long and short range.
Time to call on the Mighty Avengers!
