If you want to try a new RPG in 2026, DriveThruRPG’s “New Year, New Game” sale might just be your ticket to a better year.

Worried that it’s the new year, same you? Yeah, me too. But hey, changing who you are isn’t some radical act that you just decide all at once and then you make a big show of changing for about a week and then the next thing you know you’re making all the same decisions you promised yourself you wouldn’t make again, like you’re in some kind of new playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Actual self-transformation is a job for incremental lifestyle changes sustained over time. Maybe one of those incremental changes is trying a new RPG? Certainly a more sustainable lifestyle change than trying to hit the gym every other day, or whatever other “lock-in” method you’re trying this year. And DriveThruRPG’s New Year, New Game sale has big discounts on some titles, and a moderate discount on most things. Let’s take a look!

DriveThruRPG – New Year, New Game, Same You (Unless…)

This sale, in particular, is aimed at getting you what you need to start a new game. Meaning you can find good deals on core rulebooks, as well as starter sets, depending on your preference. You can find all the usual suspects like Alien, Cyberpunk RED, and Call of Cthulhu alongside more surprising books like Vampire: The Masquerade, and many titles in the Without Number line.

If there is a system you’ve been looking for, you’re probably going to find it here. But it’s not just core rules – you can find a selection of new adventures, solo adventures, and GM resources as well as plenty of community titles. There’s a ton to dig through, whatever you’re after for 2026.

So start the year off with a little retail therapy (I know I could use some every time I even glance towards the front page of Reddit), and save a little money at the same time. Scroll on to find the sale, as well as a few select titles you might want to check out.

For instance you could take Cyberpunk RED and the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit and delve a little deeper into the world of Night City. Maybe you’re excited by the surprise new update for Cyberpunk 2077, or are getting ready to have your tear ducts worked out with the second season of Edgerunners in the works. Either way, these two books will let you live and die in Night City with the best of ’em.

Or give the space horror of ALIEN a try. I can’t recommend the system enough – it captures the vibe of the real horror being callous corporations who value planet-killing bioweapons over humanity every single time. Plus also it’s the perfect pairing with ALIEN: Earth, if you’ve been catching up on that.

Either way, you can find a bunch of stuff at the sale, which runs for the next eight days (at press time). So take a look and save while you still can!

What will you play in 2026?
