Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that North American hobby stores will experience shipment delays for physical stock of Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft, missing the planned 3 November early access launch. Unforeseen freight disruptions mean local game shops will receive core books and accessories only days before, or on, the global retail release scheduled for 17 November 2026.

The distribution snag disrupts the two-week retail head start that brick-and-mortar stores rely on to drive physical pre-orders. While digital access on D&D Beyond remains unhindered, physical stock sits in transit, leaving high street stockists vulnerable to digital cannibalisation during what was meant to be an exclusive physical sales window.
The Wizards of the Coast team said in an official statement,
We know this is frustrating for those who were excited to get these books to their D&D table on Early Access release day, and we get that. We’re working with our distribution partners to get product to stores as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for continuing to be the best part of D&D.”
Delayed Physical Stock and Delivery Targets
Physical products face staggered arrival dates across North America, with miniatures taking the heaviest hit:

| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft Gameplay Expansion (alternate-art cover) | Arriving shortly after 3 November |
| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft – Collector’s Edition Gameplay Expansion | Arriving shortly after 3 November |
| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft – Murloc Mini | Arriving shortly after 3 November |
| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft Dungeon Master’s Screen | Arriving on or near 17 November |
| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft – Icecrown Citadel Adventure Map Pack | Arriving on or near 17 November |

| Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft Official Miniatures: Alliance Pack | Pushed back to on or around 17 November |
Transatlantic stagger and British retail
While Wizards of the Coast framed the announcement around North American supply routes, international distribution reflects a wider staggered rollout. In the UK, specialist retailer Forbidden Planet lists the hardcover Gameplay Expansion for £49.99 with an expected dispatch date of 20 November 2026.
This three-day gap behind the 17 November global date highlights persistent ocean freight buffers between US headquarters and European warehouses. For British players, local availability lands nearly three weeks after American players begin exploring the digital rules.
Azeroth rules and tabletop mechanics
The crossover brings Blizzard Entertainment’s twenty-year-old online universe into the 5th edition rules, expanding character options and encounter design for roleplaying games:
- Classes and Archetypes: Complete rules for all 13 World of Warcraft classes, featuring 9 revised subclasses and more than 40 specialisations.
- Playable Species: 16 distinct species, including Dracthyr, Draenei, Earthen, Forsaken, Haranir, Mechagnome, Pandaren, Tauren, Troll, Vulpera, and Worgen.
- Dungeon Crawls: 7 classic Azeroth dungeons reconstructed for tabletop exploration, supported by 30 dedicated dungeon boss stat blocks.
- Monsters and Items: Over 50 new monsters, alongside 60 spells and 25 magical items covering mounts and companion pets.
- Renown Mechanics: Faction progression systems covering 23 separate Azeroth factions, giving adventuring parties structured downtime and political ties.
Blizzard executive creative director Chris Metzen has spent recent years recentering the overarching story across gaming formats, making this joint release the first formal tabletop collaboration between Blizzard and Wizards of the Coast. Whether the physical supply chain catches up in time for holiday campaigns remains dependent on port clearance over the coming fortnight.
