Kill Team is taking us on a narrative journey into the Space Hulk known as the Gallowdark. And the Roadmap points to a bitter conclusion.
Games Workshop has released a Roadmap for the next season of Kill Team that’s going to last from 2022-2023. We’ve got expansion plans as well as names of them. Narratively things don’t look great for the Gallowdark.
“There are more expansion boxes on the way too – each containing two full kill teams, more unique terrain, new missions, and new rules. We’ve intercepted secret transmissions from the Warhammer Design Studio, and can reveal their names to you right now.”
So now we know the next three names of the expansion:
- Shadowvaults
- Soulshackle
- Gallowfall
Just based on the names and context of the story taking place inside the Space Hulk Gallowdark I think this bodes poorly for the ship. Shadowvaults is alluding to some deep, mysterious vault (probably located somewhere on the Gallowdark) that holds, well, “Shadow” which never ends well.
The next expansion after that is Soulshackle which of course sounds like some psychic shenanigans. I would not be shocked if daemons were involved with that one at all. Perhaps possession or a bound daemon in some way.
And finally, we have Gallowfall. That sounds bad. The name of the Space Hulk is the Gallowdark, and we have Gallow…Fall. Sure sounds like this Space Hulk is going DOWN and it’s not going to be good for anyone involved or still stuck on the ship.
Aside from the narrative beats these expansions might hit, we do know some more details about what’s physically in them. We’ll get two full Kill Teams for one thing. It’s not clear if these Kill Teams will be all new or what — but you know they are going to have some cool models regardless. We’re also going to get some more unique Terrain from these kits. Those are always worth checking out. And for your Kill Team games you can expect brand new missions and rules, too.
