WizKids revealed Builders of Baldur’s Gate, a new Dungeons & Dragons board game, that will hit retail in June 2025.
Dungeons & Dragons: Builders of Baldur’s Gate is a new city-building game by designer Matthew Dunstan (see “2024 Nominees Unveiled“). In this game, players assume the roles of the heads of a powerful families in Baldur’s Gate. They will be tasked with growing their prestige by building new businesses within the nine districts of the city and extending their family’s influence by gaining favor of three main factions of the city: the Council of Four, the Flaming Fist, and the Thieves’ Guild.
By placing buildings, such as special keeps, gates, and watchtowers, players will gain influence cubes that will help them grow. However, players still need to be weary of outside threats, like the monsters that attack the outer walls, which will force temporary alliances between families to stop them. The most powerful family at the end of the game will end up in control the city and win the game.
This game is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 90 minutes. It will retail for $64.99.
