D&D’s upcoming vinyl album gets a release date, November 15th, but you can listen to a single to get a taste right now.
D&D, as part of the yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, will be getting a double vinyl album next month! Today, it not only got an official release date, November 15th, it also got its first single. The track, Arise, Tiamat! is out now on Apple Music. And you can have a listen, and snag your copy now before they ship next month!

D&D and a record might seem like a weird combo, but music plays an important part at many D&D tables now. It’s kind ofa lways been the case. Many of my games, even in the early days, had collections of fantasy and fantasy-adjacent music. I can recall the dulcet tones of dulcimers and flutes from Celtic music albums piping through when our party would venture into a tavern. Or, of course, the music from the Conan Movie and the Lord of the Rings suite for epic fights. I would imagine D&D games made up a sizable portion of folks like David Arkenstone’s musical sales.
These days, though, there are more audios and ambiences. Official album aside, you can find whole YouTube channels dedicated to making sure your taverns sound tavern-y, your villages are quaint and idyllic, and the dripping eldritch horror swimming up out of the darkness has accompanying horns and big drums.
So too, will the official album.
