The free adventure Scions of Elemental Evil available on D&D Beyond features the heroes from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon as pregenerated characters–plus a new character, Niko. In the adventure, the characters are all now adults, rather than the kids who featured in the original cartoon series.

  • Bobby (Barbarian 4; Path of the Berserker)
  • Diana (Monk 4; Warrior of the Open Hand)
  • Eric (Fighter 4; Champion)
  • Hank (Ranger 4; Hunter)
  • Niko (Cleric 4; Life Domain)
  • Presto (Wizard 4; Evoker)
  • Sheila (Rogue 4; Thief)

Fans of the old show may recall that each of the heroes had a magical item, and these items are present and correct in the adventure! Here are the basics, although you’ll need to grab the adventure for the full details.

Bobby’s Thunderous Greatclub

  • Increases Strength to 20 when attuned.
  • +1d8 Thunder damage to creatures; +3d8 Thunder damage to unattended objects.
  • Clap of Thunder creates sound out to 300 feet; can also create 30-ft cone of thunder (creatures make DC 15 Strength save or knocked prone).
  • Earthquake creates earthquake in 50-ft radius. Structures take 50 damage; creatures make DC 20 Dexterity save or knocked prone. Can also create 30-ft deep, 10-ft wide fissure.

Diana’s Quarterstaff of the Acrobat

  • +2 attack and damage.
  • Emits dim light to 10-ft (can be extinguished).
  • Can change form to 6-inch rod, 10-ft pole, or quarterstaff.
  • Advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
  • +5 AC bonus once per rest as a reaction to one attack.
  • Thrown 30/120 ft, returning to hand after the attack.

Eric’s Shield of the Cavalier

  • +2 AC in addition to shield’s regular bonus.
  • Bash deals 2d6 + 2 + Strength modifier Force damage and pushes creatures 10 feet (knocks creatures of your size or smaller prone).
  • Reaction to create 5-ft protective field which offers complete protection while concentrating; useable once per day.

Hank’s Energy Bow

  • +1 attack and damage. Deals Force damage.
  • Arrow emits 20-ft radius bright light, 20-ft dim light.
  • Ranged attack to restrain; DC 15 Strength save or Restrained for 1 minute (DC 20 save to break free).
  • Arrow can teleport a willing target to a space within 10-feet of you.
  • Flurry of arrows makes a 60-ft ladder up a wall for 1 minute.

Niko’s Mace

  • Casts Summon Celestial, 6 charges, regains 1d6 at dawn.

Presto’s Hat of Many Spells

  • Is a spell casting focus; any spell gains the Somatic component.
  • Can cast spell you don’t know with an Intelligence (Arcana) check of 10 + spell level (must be a level you could normally cast and still requires relevant slot). Once per rest. If you fail the check, a random effect happens instead.

Sheila’s Cloak of Invisibility

  • Become invisible for 1 hour. 3 charges, regains 1d3 charges at dawn.
