Red Dragons get a fresh coat of paint in the upcoming Monster Manual. And WizKids has a new big dragon mini to celebrate.

WizKids revealed a new big dragon miniature today. Part of the Icons of the Realms series, the Red Dragon Tyrant miniature shows off the new red dragon redesign in the upcoming Monster Manual, set to release in February 2025.

As with others in the Icons of the Realms series, this is straight out of the artwork and onto your table. WizKids’ dragons are big, too. Calling them miniatures almost feels like a misnomer, especially since they tend to tower over other models at scale.

WizKids’ Red Dragon Tyrant – Gorgeous And Deadly

And make no mistake, this thing is huge. Both are in game terms because that’s the size category that Adult Red Dragons fall into. But then also in terms of tabletop real estate. The Red Dragon Tyrant sits on a 75mm base and boasts an 8-inch wingspan.

“Dungeons & Dragons’ most iconic monster, the Adult Red Dragon is a tyrant among evil dragons. Wielding its fiery breath like a raging inferno, Adult Red Dragons are drawn to volcanic mountaintops and burning wastelands when building their armies and impressive treasure hoards.

Sculpted in its newest form, the Huge-sized D&D Icons of the Realms: Adult Red Dragon Tyrant pre-painted miniature sits on a 75mm base, making it perfect for your next encounter. With an 8-inch wingspan, this quintessential dragon will dominate your table and collection.”

You can also snag an unpainted version as part of the Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures line. In case you want to paint your own red dragon, or you just like the look of the guy. WotC (probably) wouldn’t sic the Pinkertons on you for painting a red dragon green. Probably.
