The D&D Dark Alliance servers are shutting down next year. But an offline single-player mode with all the DLC will take its place.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance was a beleaguered title that never quite found its footing or its audience. Drawing on the “Dark Alliance” name, the game was meant as a spiritual successor to the original Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance titles, which took D&D into action RPG territory.
And action RPGs are great. The original Dark Alliance had a very loyal fanbase that explored the many permutations of the game’s crunchy combat system. D&D: Dark Alliance was plagued from the outset by buggy multiplayer code, lackluster combat on even the most difficult settings, and a gear system that needed revamping.
As is often the case, the dev team worked hard to repair as many of these issues as they could. But Dark Alliance never seemed destined to find its live service footing. It just wasn’t a forever game. It lacked the horde slaying of a game like Vermintide 2 or Dark Tide, but it was a return to the spotlight for Drizzt and friends.
Dark Alliance Announces Server Shutdown In February, To Delist From Stores
While the writing may have been on the wall for a while, the official announcement came earlier. Tuque games announced on Steam that the servers will be shutting down at the end of February, 2025:
“We will be shutting down (shut down) the Dark Alliance servers on 2/24/2025 and it will no longer be available to purchase starting that day. The base game and all DLC are still available to play in offline single player by anyone who currently owns it.”

So if you want to have a copy of Dark Alliance to play ever, you have a few months to pick it up still.
Happy adventuring!
