During the Las Vegas Open 2025 preview Games Workshop showed some images of what’s coming to Warhammer 40,000.

We now have confirmation that 1) The Emperor’s Children are a whole lot closer to release than I had initially expected. They are apparently right around the corner which is exciting. But we also got a tease as to what the future holds for Warhammer 40,000.

Now, GW didn’t call this a road map during the presentation…but it kind of is one. So let’s talk about it.

Coming Now/Very soon we have the following armies:

  • Aeldari
  • Astra Militarum
  • Emperor’s Children

We’ve already seen the new Astra Militarum book and miniatures for the Death Korps of Krieg. Plus, the Aeldari aren’t that far behind and we know Aspect Warriors and Phoenix Lords are inbound. Now, we’ve got all those spicy Emperor’s Children reveals, too.

Coming Next we have the following:

  • World Eaters
  • Death Guard
  • Thousand Sons

It sure seems like Games Workshop has Chaos on the brain! It’s going to be a good time for the followers of the dark gods and the traitor legions in 40k!

After that we have “On The Horizon” images to guess at:

If I had to guess this is what I’m going with:

  • Great Knights
  • Salamanders
  • Black Templars
  • Chaos Knights

I may be way off on those but if you’ve got any other guesses let us know in the comments.

Finally, we have this mysterious image which was jokingly called a lictor and/or two Leagues of Votann members stack on top of each other:

I honestly don’t know! The silhouette could be a lot of things. I was honestly wondering if it was this miniature:

It’s the new Lord of Poxes. With the right angle, I could see the shadow being similar…but I don’t think that would count as “The Future” if GW is already showing it off. Again, drop your guesses in the comments.

Well, what do you think about the not road map? Are you looking forward to anything in particular?
