Gundam Assemble, the Gundam miniatures game, announced that the game is coming 2026. Oof. It’s going to be a long year.
Whelp. That’s a bummer. Gundam Assemble is slated for a 2026 release. We don’t have a month either. Hopefully it will come out early 2026 but that means we’re going to have a long wait ahead of us.

GUNDAM ASSEMBLE
RELEASE in 2026
The new game was announced at the start of this year. The teaser trailer certainly raised some interest. Plus, the concept certainly seems promising. It’s Gundam — a brand already known for their awesome designs and model kits. Just shrink those down and add rules.
While we still don’t have a ton of info to go off of, we now have the new Gundam Assemble website. It’s sparse now but the Bandai team has a year to ramp it up. You can bet we’ll be keeping an eye on them for updates.
For now, we’ve just got more images from some of the promotional materials and more teasers.
Man, this “coming soon” section is a bummer. I guess “soon” is relative…but a year out doesn’t seem “soon” in my book.
I’m looking forward to this one. They’ve already got the miniatures technology down as evidenced by the vast Gunpla library. The miniatures look pretty spot-on for Gundam and Gunpla in general.
I’m excited to see what the rules are like. Hopefully the ruleset is good and not just cobbled together. While great miniatures can take your game far a good ruleset can elevate it to the next level.
Scaled-Up Rules?
I know I’m not the only person thinking this either. But I also wonder if the rules will still function if we scaled-up the games from 5 cm to the standard* sized Gunpla kits. Sure the table would have to be larger. It would be closer to the play space of a modern tabletop wargame vs the more “arena sized” play spaces we’ve seen.

Heck, even if the core rules don’t say they support the standard Gunpla kits, I’m positive that the community will convert the rules to that size. Let’s be honest, if it’s a grid system then you just need to make everything larger and scale it up that way. Oh and create a standardized base…again, that shouldn’t be too hard.
Oh look at that…they already have hexagonal “Action Bases” to work from…
Plus, at the price that a Gunpla kit goes for, I’d totally be willing to assemble some Gundam models and try it out. If you’re coming at this from the Warhammer side of the hobby you’ll end up with reverse sticker-shock. And don’t let the cheap price make you think you’re getting cheap quality either. It’s actually quite the opposite.
*One issue would be determining the scale you’d want to use for “standard” to begin with. Gunpla comes in many different scales:
- 1/144
- 1/100
- 1/60
- 1/72
Anyhow, I’ll just toss that out there. Hopefully whatever Gundam Assemble community forms out there can decide a scale they want for a standard. They have until 2026 to sort it out…
It’s going to be a long year, isn’t it…
