The Warhammer 40,000 Balance Dataslate has hit the download section. Games Workshop has a recap of what all has changed.

A new Balance Dataslate is always an exciting time. The meta shifts every time they drop. Sometimes it’s just a gentle nudge. Sometimes is a monumental one. Whatever the case is this time around, you can bet the meta is shifting.

You can find all the downloads directly from Games Workshop.  There’s quite a few that got updated today:

That’s mostly the army specific ones. There’s also the Munitorum Field Manual as well as the Balance Dataslate. Now, if you want complete breakdown for all the changes and why, WarCom has a write-up for that. I’m going to hit some of the highlights. But, as always, if you’re army got an update go download that and read through it. We’ve got a lot to cover so let’s dive in!

Balance Dataslate Hightlights

Adepta Sororitas

The Acts of Faith rules were partially reverted. Now you get a die each time a unit from your army is destroyed.

Adeptus Custodes

Mostly just points adjustments. Some of the more popular/potent options went up. Some of the more expensive options dropped.

Adeptus Mechanicus

Cawl and the Tech-Priest Dominus have gotten a points reduction.

Aeldari

Asumen’s ability Hand of Asuryan got a nerf. It’s now doing Anti-Infantry on 5+.

Astra Militarum

The Bridgehead Strike Detachment was coming in a bit too strong. Various point changes, stratagem changes, and the Fire Zone Purge rule have been modified.

Blood Angels

A few Death Company units got a points drop while the Rage-fuelled Warrior Enhancement got a points increase.

Chaos Daemons

The Legion of Excess got a nerf to their Seductive Gambit as did the Overwhelming Excess Stratagem. There’s also a tweak to the Thieves of Pain to clarify which units are eligible to take the damage.

Leagues of Votann

You can now pick TWO enemy units at the start of the battle and give them TWO Judgement Tokens. The Oathband’s Juidged enemy unit rule has a tweak to compensate.

Orks

The Takital Brigade Detachment got a tweak to it’s Lissen ‘Ere rule. Orks units only get one Taktik and will have to make a leadership check to see if they might still smash some ‘eads.

Space Marines

Oath of Moment benefits only apply to Codex: Space Marines Detachments. Uriel Ventris and his deep strike benefit can only be used on Phobos, Gravis, and Tacticus units now. The interaction between Phobos Lieutenants and Strategic Disperasal got clarified — they can’t charge after moving. And the Wind Swift Evasion Stratagem only applies to Infantry and Mounted Units.

Not Just The Balance Dataslate

Again, if you see your army on this list I highly encourage you to check the downloads section and see all the changes for yourself. There’s bound to be more nuance to some of the changes than the short versions mentioned above. And even if your army isn’t listed you should verify your army points in the Munitorum Field Manual. Minor points adjustments can mean more room for new units or having to rejigger your army lists!

Changes Ahead. Read Carefully.
