Star Wars: Legion had the longest update from Atomic Mass Games. There’s a TON of good stuff coming to a store near you!

At AdeptiCon 2025, Atomic Mass Games brought the goods for Star Wars: Legion. It’s going to be a good year for the game and the growing community. There’s a LOT to cover so let’s get into it.

Star Wars: Legion Organized Play

Just like the other AMG games, store support is coming. There’s a new Store Tournament Kit on the way. There are 3 planned for this year to help support the game and help it grow in your store. But that’s not all. How about a weekly reason to come play Legion?

There will be weekly Organized play packs that you can get that will have special cards with sweet new art. There will be all sorts of rarities and stuff you can collect for playing SWL at your store. The idea is that you fill out your play card and you earn packs every week. This is a fantastic way to get players to become regulars. I think AMG might be on to something with this idea.

Returning Units In Hard Plastics

More of the range is getting converted/reworked/repackaged as the new format. Importantly, this doesn’t invalidate your current miniatures. These are just new ways to collect these units with updated hard plastic sculpts.

They also have the updated form and style for SWL products moving forward.

Ashoka Tano Character Pack

The new Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Commander Ahsoka mini and cards were also shown off. Speaking of commanders…

New Customizable Commanders For Star Wars: Legion

AMG is introducing new customizable Commander and Operative packs. They will come with lots of various bits so you can quite literally build your own commanders and operatives. Rules-wise, you’ll be able to kit them out how you want and you’ll be able to give them new doctrines. This really opens up some rules options and gives players a much higher degree of customization — not just for the mini but also for your army!

From Rebels, to Empire, to Jedi and Droid commanders, it’s a whole new customizable ballgame!

New Essentials Packs

Maybe you skipped the starter or maybe you just wanted to collect a different army. Now you can and still get the gear you need to play the game. The push for AMG is the miniatures and they don’t want you to buy a unit you don’t want for a card. So that’s where the new Upgrade packs come in.

The new Command Card Packs are also designed for the same reason. These will update your cards to the current set and are reasonably priced (around $20 depending on the pack). Most players probably won’t need more than one or two to have the updated cards for your respective army.

New Starter Army Boxes

These were announced at GAMA and are looking awesome for new players or veterans looking to break into a new army.

These starter sets also come with a recommended starter army list that’s 600 points. That’s also the new size for starter games so it’s quite literally all you need to hop in and play.

New Hero Packs

If you need to get a commander or two, then these new character packs have you covered as well. “But what about the droids?!” Don’t worry…they are getting something special.

New and Updated Units Coming To The Game

Yes! Grievous is coming with a mounted version and he’s got some friends to ride with him!

Speaking of mounted units the Han and Luke are riding Tauntauns AND there will be a new Hard Plastic version of the Tauntaun unit coming, too.

There’s also a new 3D Objective Token set coming. Personally, I think this is fantastic! I love these little doodads for scatter terrain but more importantly these are legit battlefield objectives to fight over.

Weequay Pirates Inbound

Yep! The Weequay Pirates are getting a big unit as well as Hondo and a WLO-5 Speeder Tank!

Developer And Game Update In April

On April 15, there will be a big Developer Update. So check that out next month!

Star Wars: Legion Release Schedule and Re-issues

So there you have it! Loads of good stuff coming to Star Wars: Legion. It really does seem like a big push for this one in 2025 and well into 2026! Local stores and groups are going to really benefit from a lot of these updates, too.

It’s a good time to be a Star Wars: Legion fan!
