The future is bright for Age of Sigmar fans, and there are a few things I’m hoping we see for the galavanting ghosties -the Nighthaunt.

Welcome in, Generals of the Realms! We recently got a massive wolf box for the Gloomspite Gitz, and a box of bones is hot on their heels soon for the Soulblight. Games Workshop has given players some really awesome stuff to players with these special boxes, and they don’t seem to be slowing down. The roadmap is positively stacked with new armies, and 4.0 just keeps getting better. However, we don’t know what we’ll get in the upcoming drops (if we get anything at all). That doesn’t stop us from hoping, however, and there are a few things that I would love to see for another upcoming army, the Nighthaunt.

New Nighthaunt Cavalry

Now don’t get me wrong; I LOVE the Hexwraiths. The scythe-wielding knights wreathed in balefire are some of my favorite models in the range. However, the whole point of the Nighthaunt is the power of their shock attacks. They are the tip of Nagash’s warspear, and they should feel like an ambush army. With a list full of infantry, I’m not sure that sells. With the updated Deathrattle box coming up, it’s high time to give my beloved phantoms some mounted support. Even making Wights cross army would work for me.

Faction Terrain

This isn’t wishlisting since we already know it’s coming, but it’s something Nighthaunt really needs. I’m hoping it will give us a way to bring back our troops, while draining the leadership of nearby enemies. Nighthaunt is all about hitting hard and fast and making their enemies run, like the Night Lords of AoS. I’m hoping they have a secondary fuction similar to Gnawholes where Nighthaunt units can jump between them or power themselves up for spellcasting.

More Nighthaunt Casters

I know Nighthaunt is one of the more militant factions alongside the Ossiarchs, but I still feel like they could use some more magic. The Guardian of Souls is awesome, and we’ve gotten a few new casters in recent years, but this is the time to really bring us into our own. I want a fleet of deadly magic users draining the willpower their enemies and empowering the thundering phantoms. If nothing else, it would let us get our amazing Manifestations out earlier.

What changes do you want to see for the Nighthaunt?
