Goatboy here with the first armylist thoughts for the Codex World Eaters.  Lord Invocatus and his bloody rodeo are here!

Thank you to GW for giving us the World Eaters rules early as well as the initial points for the army list.  It helps let us build out some things, truly figure out of something is good, and just helps get everyone excited for the new book.  The updated points were very forgiving to the World Eaters and I hope we see some other tweaks in the future.  Let’s go over my first list thoughts as I get ready to try out some test games when I get a chance with my updated World Eaters Codex.

This armylist is using what I already have painted up as I was a heavy Eightbound player.  Yes they got hit a bit but I still think they will punch above their weight pretty easily. I was also already playing Forgefiends and Maulerfiends so adding them is pretty easy.  I also randomly have some double fisted Helbrutes so it isn’t hard to get this all together and working.

Lord Invocatus’ Rodeo Tactics

The idea here is you have a bunch of middle ground pressure units.  They are going to move up, get in the way, and hopefully make your opponents life harder.  The giant blob of Berzerkers are there as a second wave of idiots that can hopefully mop some things up.  You can also put them into deep strike and Rapid Ingress them if you like depending on how the opponent is set up.

Oh and Forgefiends look so good in this book.  Being able to shoot a lot with Rapid Fire 1 d3 Blast Cannon shots that get to reroll all hits if the target is within 18” and the closest is pretty dang good.  Heck just shooting at stuff keeps people honest when playing World Eaters.

Next time around I want to look at a Land Raider army as it might have some legs in the future with the Goretrack Onslaught detachment.  You could also drop Invocatus to get a regular Juggernaut Lord and see if you can do some fun things with Enhancements and other options.
