Atomic Mass Games has released the new May 2025 updates for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and bunch of characters got new rules.
Yesterday, Atomic Mass Games released a new transmission outlining all the character rule updates coming to MCP. Because AMG was already taking the time to do a repackage and reissue project for existing characters they wanted to take this opportunity to also update the character cards. The card updates are out now for free as part of the print-and-play documents. AMG also mentioned as they proceed with their reissue project, they are hoping for more consistent but smaller rebalance drops moving forward.
With all that said, the May 2025 Card Updates are a meaty set of changes. It’s not just characters, either. There’s a handful of Team Tactic Cards that got updated along with these character changes. Below, you can find a summary of the changes from AMG.
Team Tactic Card Updates
Seven Suns of Cinnibus, Vapors of Valtorr, Magnetic Crush, Mutant Traitor, and Astral Ring were all updated for clarity.
Mutant Traitor – Amplified Ammunition’s ability that damages Bishop changed to after all attacks are resolved and only happens once.
Character Update Summary
Along with this summary of changes there’s also the free cards to download from the Print-and-Play documents.
This is just the Bullseye card as an example. It’s worth noting that all of the new cards also have some new formation changes. In particular you’ll see that when it comes to size callouts, the formation changed. Here’s Colossus as an example. Note the nomenclature for the size for his updated Push and Throws from his two attacks.
If you were using (or wanted to use) any of characters from the updates I HIGHLY recommend you check on the new cards and powers. Some of these characters got massive reworks from their previous incarnations. Gambit, for example, got an impressive rework with his powers.
I’m still digesting all these changes myself but overall these characters do look promising to play. Personally, I’m really tempted to bust out Nightcrawler again and see how many bonus dice I can generate for his Brimstone Blitz attack.
So go download these new cards and try out some old favorites with new rules. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some teams to build…
