Echoes of the Veil: Cinematic Cyberpunk RPG hack of CBR+PNK from Reverie Rebels
- END DATE: Tue, July 1 2025 9:15 AM EDT.
- CROWDFUNDING ON: Kickstarter
- SYSTEM(S): Forged in the Dark (CBR+PNK variant)
- PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
- MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $65 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the book plus the art
- AI STATEMENT: “100% Human-Made.”
- WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? CBR+PNK is one of my favorite TTRPGs because it distilled Forged in the Dark rules and a cyberpunk setting into a minimalist pamphlet-based game. Format is the driver behind CBR+PNK, giving it the streamlined structure that puts the rules and the concept into a few one-page documents/character sheets. In contrast, Echoes of the Veil expands the game into a 100-page book. The expansion provides more detail, artwork, and a weird magic vibe. But why expand the rules? The creator wrote that “as a neurodivergent GM, running games from just a handful of pamphlets without much explanation? That left me overwhelmed and paralyzed. I needed more.” If you want to see the additional content the creator wrote as well as more information on this cyberpunk RPG using Forged in the Dark, check out the Kickstarter page for more details.

This book starts with a 0-level gauntlet and options to string these adventures together into a 10-level adventure. There’s a deck of Tarot-sized cards with ancestry and class information to help create new characters and NPCs.
